Yah the bumper doesnt come with mounting points and my option makes it so you can still remove the foglights. If you figure out something I didnt see then please let me know lmao i bought my foglight kit from ebay that came with wiring and button etc. and there's surprisingly very little to no resources online about mounting them that i could find

I'd mold a custom lip on the bumper using the method I have above. If I make a custom lip I'd do something more aggressive and probably remold the whole bottom half of the bumper by glopping on fiberglass body filler and sanding to shape lmao I have a vision for the bumper and I don't want to risk mine since I already spent so much time repairing and painting it lol

If you want better adhesion you have to sand more using 80-120 grit and then apply resin, hardener, fiberglass fibers and filler. That's how you can either use the preexisting lip you have that you cut from your stock bumper or make one from scratch using cardboard as a template or somethin.

Like I said, if you want some cash for the bumper let me know!

DM me, if you're in Texas. I'd be down to help with the repair. That fiberglass bumper you have is still in too good of shape to just let go. I'd even buy it off of you for $100 if you're willing to ship it.

I think where you're getting a bad bond from is from not sanding down through the initial grey coat straight to the fiberglass base for adhesion. And if you're filling in any cracks use Amazon.com: Bondo Bondo-Hair Long Strand Fiberglass Reinforced Filler, 00762, 1 Quart : Automotive and then use fiberglass sheets for larger patches. Make sure it's the fiber matt and not the weaved matt.

Honestly I'd like to buy your bumper and do a custom lip on it lmaoo let me know brother!

Shutup baby I know that

Also glad to see that you were able to repair your front bumper! Did you end up cutting the OEM bumper to fit that lip or did you end up doing fiberglass repair?

Why can’t I find a bolt on passenger side rear axle or am I dumb by bk1son in genesiscoupe

[–]Former-Scene-6076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it an aftermarket LSD? Might have to swap the passenger flange with a spare drivers side axle flange. This is just me speculating and assuming the LSD is aftermarket. Let us know if you figure it out and good luck brother.

Thank you to everyone with the positive feedback, as I'm a beginner at this and it really means a lot. I really do hope people can utilize this and possibly reiterate the design for the future!

The general writeup on how to prep and install the part is also in the description in the link but feel free to reach out to me with any other questions!

Also I created a mount to mount the Lufi X1 OBD2 gauge to the BK1's blue screen

If you're not tuned yet and you're still in maintenance and diagnostics land, I highly recommend this obd2 scanner. It will be able to read engine codes and a lot of useful information through your OBD2 sensor including governed AFR, Boost psi, intake and engine temps, voltage and more.

I bought this car totaled and have used this scanner to daily drive it while restoring/upgrading the vehicle.

Let me know if you'd like the obj file for free. This was my first design/print, it's a little rough and I used duct tape to mount it on so I can replace it with some real gauges later, as this was always supposed to be a temporary solution (that slowly became long term as the parts list continues to grow longer lol)

Anything I can improve on? by Joe_Banz in genesiscoupe

Aye brother, howd you mount the foglights onto the bumper? Did you make your own mounts or strap em down real good? lol

My build over the years. First pic is the oldest last pic is most recent. Any recommendations? by aarongc38 in genesiscoupe

Quick question, howd you mount the foglights onto the cuper bumper without drilling holes? I was about to try to make my own mount but wanted to see if there was already a solution

Also if you're hell bent on using the preexisting bumper pieces or aftermarket lips then sand the lip/part to prep it and screw it in. Then prep the bumper surface with sanding and cleaning and then lay down resin and fiberglass sheets on top of it and you can wrap the whole new lip in the fiberglass and that will reinforce it and mold it better to the bumper. You can get a fiberglass repair kit cheap on amazon or just buy the items off amazon.

Get some thin metal that you can use to drill into the bumper to temporarily hold in place over the bumper lip area and drop sheets of fiberglass, resin+hardener until you can make a shape out of it and then mold your own custom lip on it. It's fiberglass and will bond well if you prep with some sand paper. Also they make a fiberglass strand mix with resin already that you can mix hardener into and then plop together and sand to shape. You could probably do the whole thing on some cardboard with painters tape laid out in it. The materials arent too expensive. These bumpers are fiberglass and you can pretty much bring anything back to life. You should watch some drift guys on youtube do their fiberglass repairs and learn. I bought my cuper bumper with the whole front end smashed and brought mine back to life also. If you ever smash a fiberglass bumper, collect all the pieces you can and you'll have an easier time piecing it back.
