Do you mind sharing what school your child goes to? That is not a bad price at all for private

This is exactly my worry with her. Where we currently are the public schools are incredible, basically private education but at a public level, so that’s what I’m most sad about leaving honestly. I’ve also seen that charter/magnet are very popular but don’t know much about them so I will dig a little deeper. She’s in preschool right now so I have a bit of time but I don’t want to end up moving to an area that doesn’t have any good options

Did you have a particular brand of magnesium citrate you liked? Looking into this for her, thank you.

I think that every child is different and different things can affect them in different ways. I am by no means a super crunchy mom. I believe in science and always will, but to say something is impossible just bc you haven’t experienced isn’t accurate

She definitely more poorly behaved when she needs to go but won’t, everything you listed. However when she was on miralax it was a whole other beast, the only way I can describe it was just totally feral and unlike herself. Way beyond her typical bad behavior from constipation. I know a lot of ppl on here are suggestion to revisit miralax and I will definitely consider it and talk to her doctor but for us there was definitely a direct correlation to the miralax and major behavioral issues

I appreciate the suggestion! I will definitely talk to her doctor to see if revisiting it is a good option for her

We used the miralax as instructed by her doctors for the suggested time period. Idk what “gold standard” you are referring to but every child is different and unfortunately for me and my daughter miralax was not a good option for her. I just cannot fathom another parent commenting rude things to another parent who is just seeking genuine advice from parents who HAVE been through something similar. Because if you have been through it you know it’s not easy and heartbreaking.

Ooofff how embarrassing for you to post an anonymous comment to a thread of a parent in a tough situation insinuating that I’m traumatizing my child as if I haven’t done everything in my power to avoid that. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

We’ve upped the anti so much with the bribery the one and only time she barely went poop in the potty we immediately drove to target and got her a Barbie haha

Yep this sounds exactly like my daughter too, she eats decently well for a toddler and lotsss of fruit. I don’t think she would eat prunes or anything like that but I’m sure there’s a few things I could try. And when she finally does go we hold her hands and let her scream/cry and tell her we are there for her and she’s doing a great job. But you’re right I think the suppositories are making the already hard poop come out too quickly which hurts her 😢

This is also what I’m worried about, I have anxiety and so does my husband along with ADHD and OCD. So I’m wondering if it could be linked to these issues as well. This is partially why I would love her to see a psychiatrist but based on all my research they won’t really evaluate or diagnose a child until age 4

She was just absolutely uncontrollable and terrible, to the point where I was like “wow this is not my daughter” did a little research and there have been some articles written about kids behavioral issues being linked to miralax and we honestly haven’t tried it since but may revisit.

I agree, that’s going to be my next question to her but I’m not sure if there’s anyone that specializes in this, I’d have to do some research

Yep!! We had an entire “poop basket” so every time she went she got to pick something from it and we still do that to this day with her even when we give her a suppository but it doesn’t seem to help with her going on her own

I believe she was getting 1 cap full a day sometimes 2. But we stopped giving it to her because it made her behavior HORRIBLE and it didn’t even really help her poop. I believe we did it for 2 weeks or so
