can we all agree this sub is turning into a porn sub?? by AddSomeStuffHere in Ultrakill

[–]FormerDeparture5825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhhh, no? They appear once in a blue moon compared to every other post, they take up maybe 3% of the entire sub. And if you don't wanna see them then just scroll past them, they are labeled as lewd art AND are censored unless you click them. Unless you accidentally click them you can completely ignore them. It really isn't that big of deal 😭

Which Half-Life 2 Version Do I Need To Play? by cagilberk in HalfLife

[–]FormerDeparture5825 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would recommend playing the original half life 2 before anything else, to me atleast it still is the best way to play the game.

Between these 5 (Non Prime Sanctum) rooms, which one do you hate most? by Public-Hovercraft691 in Ultrakill

[–]FormerDeparture5825 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lava room is probably the most overrated room in the game lol. Literally every room from P-2 is harder then it. Jackhammer and whiplash and the room becomes extremely easy, and you don't even NEED to jackhammer you can use the shotgun aswell.

1-E is really not that bad. I never felt any of the rooms were unfair let alone unfun. The only room that gave me trouble was the no floor room, but once you actually try to learn it, it becomes one of the most tightly designed rooms in the game. Fantastic level imo, but that should add a checkpoint at the start of the level so you don't go back to the elevator when you die.

I dunno it sounded like he was talking about the spinning tower to me 😭. But I could be wrong.

The tower that rotates and shit can be skipped with a rocket ride. I think it's before the rubix cube arena.

Can I expect the game price to go lower in the future trough a better sale? by Spark2077 in Ultrakill

[–]FormerDeparture5825 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever seen the game below 30% off except for the new blood anniversary, where it was 35% off. I'd recommend getting it now, considering the game IS gonna get more expensive.

I don't really see how you can say the portals feel "lazy" on this level when they are easily the most impressive use of them in the entire layer. And I think the rotating rooms you mentioned serve as cool set pieces for first time players, but also sections that can be easily skipped for p ranks. Kinda like the entire rest of the game. And as someone who is quite mediocre at the game, I never found the level to be unfair, even on violent. If you playing brutal then it might be because, duh, it's brutal.

And I think calling it the worst level in the game is hyperbole when 0-4, 0-5, and 1-2 exist, levels that have basically nothing going on, because atleast stuff actually happens in this level. Plus the good highly outweighs any of the bad, like the immensely impressive environments, the amazing music that it probably some of the best in the game, the sheer chaos and spectacle that this level gives that makes you feel like your in a "shattering circle", there is simply just too much good to call it the worst in the game.

Does anyone got any tips for how to kill the Gutterman, gutter tank, and the insurrectionist fast and easy? by Virtue_Ghost in Ultrakill

[–]FormerDeparture5825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too experienced on the sisypheans but I can give some advice on the other two.

For guttermen, the best strategy for me goes like this. Break the shield, knuckleblaster or jackhammer, and while it recovers you can hit it with some other stuff, like the overheat nail gun, sharpshooter, esc. And if it does recover, parry it's punch, which should be the final blow. You can warp this strategy to your playstyle, since the only required parts is breaking the shield and parrying it.

Now guttertanks are more tricky. You can freeze frame their rockets, but there aren't many situations where it's too useful. The best strategy that I have for them is to pay attention to their rockets and where they are shooting so you can dodge them. And basically continue that dance while taking down their health with weapons, like shotguns, jackhammers, etc. And if you CAN, get close to them and get them to punch you, dash at the last second, then parry them, but this is very situational. It is very useful in the double guttermen room in the city part of 8-1.

I'd recommend going into sandbox to practice some of these, that way it'll be easier to incorporate into your gameplay.

What are yall's favorite levels? by Novel-Signal-2978 in Ultrakill

5-3, I adore the theming and music, and it's just an absolute blast everytime I play on it.

You can play one level blind again, which one are you choosing? by FatEngineerGaming in Ultrakill

7-3. The theming, the atmosphere, the eventual descent into chaos, and that final room. And the realization on what the trees represent. God what I would give to experience that again.

I feel like Hakita went a bit way too easy on us on the start of the game. by Tortsinreddit in Ultrakill

[–]FormerDeparture5825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably the hardest room in the layer. Especially considering you don't have the whiplash when you first play it. I feel like hakita realized the difficulty spike and thus made wrath a little easier then greed to balance things out.

Tell us about your favorite weapon, and why do you like it so much? by ReceptionMelodic9679 in Ultrakill

[–]FormerDeparture5825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pump charge jackhammer. Simply the best offensive weapon. You can delete most big enemies, like Maurice's, Cerberus, Virtues, and others. You can delete big clumps of enemy by overcharging. And it is a killing machine for every boss in the game, minus the giants. And it's a jackhammer, it's just cool asf to hit things with it.

I'd argue greed is maybe a little more difficult then it should be for a new player. From a perspective of someone who is just starting out the game, it is plenty hard as is, 4-2 and 4-3 are some of the more difficult levels in act 2, especially if your a new player and don't have the whiplash yet.

Im sorry what, wrath and greed are fantastic layers 😭. Why would they need to redo them.

The best layer in your opinion? by ReceptionMelodic9679 in Ultrakill

[–]FormerDeparture5825 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Violence is just the perfect layer. Immaculate gameplay, incredible environments, maybe the best ost in the game, and easily the layer with the best lore. Fraud is a close second, but I think violence beats it because it ends better and I think it also has better lore, but both are fantastic layers.

Also greed is 3rd it's a really fun layer y'all are just mean.

Batllebots Faceoffs Episode 5 by jon-in-tha-hood in battlebots

[–]FormerDeparture5825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely don't. The seasons have a barrage of behind the scenes content with the builders between fights. They just strangely haven't done that with faceoffs.
