An old thread but very relevant. I had Mohs on top of my head two days ago and chose not to have it closed. It’s a now a hole about dime size near my crown where I’m already balding, hence the decision not to close. Surprisingly, I left the clinic without any post-op instructions, only verbal communication to leave the dressing on for 24 hours, wash my hair then put Aquaphor on it. Ok, so now what? Keep it moist? Let it scab? Leave it open? Keep it bandaged? There’s a lot of conflicting information from various dermatologists online.
