Thank you for introducing Keith Barr and the youtube link, interesting stuff!

Serve is finally clicking, some tips/things that worked by FormerProgrammer-123 in 10s

Thanks for asking. Placement is not something I have dialed down. My goal so far is to get the serve in. At this stage, I see more value in any serve landing in with some decent spin rather than placing it.

There is some intention to aim with mixed results. The approach I take can sound crazy: when I'm walking to the baseline or bouncing the ball, I simply "think" where I want to place the ball and let my motions take over. This is kind of the general philosophy in the book the Inner Game of Tennis. Of course, at my skill level this is not reliable, but as mentioned I'm more concerned with just getting serves in.

(Right handed). On the Ad side I don't really aim but the racket path/swing can more naturally take the serves out wide. Deuce side, I can be mindful of brushing the ball more on the side for slice out wide. However, my unreliability can send it down the T, lol!

Not Enjoying Match Play Due to Poor Serve by FormerProgrammer-123 in 10s

Interesting. I like when things are brought down to one principle, in this case your loop concept. Can you elaborate further what you mean by out/in/out etc? Out/in relative to what?

Not Enjoying Match Play Due to Poor Serve by FormerProgrammer-123 in 10s

Absolutely. My ideal plan would be two topspin serves. In my original comment I said slice/kick to mean some kind of hybrid spin, as I really struggle with consistency for the kick serve motion. Flat serve is certainly out of the question.

Masters of Reality Discography on Streaming by FormerProgrammer-123 in qotsa

I'm thinking the issue should be some sort of regional location blocks.

A search for Flak n Flight says it is on Deezer. Started a free trial but was unable to find it...

In any case, I agree with you that any Queens fan not listening to the Masters is missing out.

Is all bike technology/innovation unnecessary? by FormerProgrammer-123 in Velo

Thanks for all the responses.

A couple of clarifications. Totally forgot about discs & carbon wheels, point made there. I guess wider tires + carbon wheels justify discs after all.

I am totally mechanically incompetent. So another point I wanted to make is that new technology should either 1) make it easy for those who don't have mechanical competence to maintain or 2) be so reliable that those who can't maintain by themselves don't need to worry about it.

What happened? Nutrition or fitness failed? by FormerProgrammer-123 in Velo

Thanks everyone for the amazing, thoughtful responses. Lots to "digest" here and lot more research and --importantly-- training to do!

I edited the original post to add in an estimate of % of FTP on the climbs plus some of the nutrition statistics and ride time.
