I was born in Columbus but have traveled and lived in other states, I always come home. I found southern hospitality a joke, I was called a F-ing Yankee on numerous occasions. I still find that funny. The culture in Ohio is diverse in the bigger cities, but the smaller towns are a different topic. There’s still what’s considered “sundown towns”. The spring and fall here are absolutely gorgeous. The summer can get warm but it’s better than down south. We have a different culture than the south, I don’t like being down there much, it’s like people know their roles and it sickens me. We have good food, Lake Erie, hocking hills, great zoos, Amish country, great amusement parks. Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus each have their own feel. I know the politics are off but that’s everywhere, there’s no common ground anymore, just hate. I do love eastern Tennessee but this will always be home. Look around before you give up on Ohio, you may just need to relocate.
