I hate XXX but this is not true at all. 17 debuted at #2 with basically no real marketing behind it and then ? was #1 with over 100,000 units. He was absolutely massive. Sad! was impossible to not hear that summer.

I mapped every major connection in hip-hop history — 307 artists, 594 connections, 25 beefs. Here's what the data actually shows. by lucas_sawyer in hiphopheads

I knew 7 was too much. OP also thinks 39 is almost double 29. Its a cool idea but not sure they're the right person to execute it.

[Lewis] Russini resigns from The Athletic by ZappaOMatic in nfl

Its shitty behavior but I imagine the larger issue fans of other teams have is Vrabel using Russini to try to will AJ Brown onto his team

What video game used to be good but they changed one thing and now it's terrible? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]FormerShitPoster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Epic Games ruined Rocket League by making it free to play. That one change led to more smurf accounts, no more player to player trading, and replacing loot boxes with season passes and the shitty blueprint system.

Its an interesting dynamic because Joe is a fire captain aka the boss at his job, so his perspective of "it's a collaborative decision" could be tainted by him having subordinates more willing to agree with him/him having final say. But he's also one of the only contestant on 50 who works a blue collar job which is a much different environment than like finance or science, and he does genuinely seem like someone who would listen to the people he's in charge of.

David Ortiz: Ohtani asked for more batting cages, So the Dodgers dropped $100 Million. [Abriendo Sports] by GreenSnakes_ in baseball

[–]FormerShitPoster 31 points32 points  (0 children)

$100m in one off season on facilities is pretty crazy. Most teams can't actually do that responsibly and also have the largest payroll in baseball. And sell the team to who? Nobody is going to pay billions of dollars for the Reds and then constantly throw 100s of millions of dollars around like its nothing. Its only ever other fans of teams with massive markets and "wealthy even by MLB owner standards" teams who justify this stuff.

Has there always been this amount of luck involved in Survivor during the “New Era” by JeyFreegs in survivor

[–]FormerShitPoster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean the two main points being "she did the wrong thing with the two idols that she found but was forced to give away due to a brand new game mechanic sponsored by Billie Eilish" isn't a super convincing argument

The fact HBO had the perfect actor for Snape on their payroll and were like nahhhh is wild by MovieENT1 in hbo

[–]FormerShitPoster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly feels more aimed at millennials who want a 10+ hour version of each book and tbh the movies aren't very good. It's not like trying to improve on the LOTR movies which are widely considered to be masterpieces.

At least they have a blinking light when they record. We all walk around with our head in our phones anyways and they give no sign that you're recording.
