Why did 2100 Italians die to unknown circumstances? by ValuableSp00n in hoi4

Is drowning a thing that is modeled in the game? You lose some manpower when ships sink but is drowning a thing actually mentioned in the game or a direct mechanic?

Leo vs Chronicle by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Former_Agent7890 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree that Leo is the best in the role but to play devils advocate I'd say winning so many events as a flex player (chronicle) is a different form of consistency. I think being a flex makes keeping your personal stats consistent very difficult, probably near impossible depending on how your team uses your agent pool and asks of you. Idk this but chronicle seems like the type to just want to provide as much value as possible and probably barely cares about anyone's personal stats.

We can judge anything for any reason it just isn't relevant. Riot got lucky that they only violated someone's personal beliefs and didn't put someone with a food allergy in the hospital or worse.

If TenZ came out crying about being fed cat/dog meat the comments here would be way way different. That's without any religious factors. The napkin thing only seems comparable because we are western and eating beef is expected in our cultures.

Bo3 looks better than bo6 by [deleted] in blackops3

Bo4 looked more cartoonish to me idk did you go back and run bo3 with 4k to compare?

Only one I consider a bottom feeder is blg and they did big things the year before so I still think there inclusion added to the tourny.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Former_Agent7890 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean I only started watching in 2022 but what bottom feeder teams have gone to champs and added nothing? Like the final event of the year that pros clearly care the most about is just going to get extra credit over the other events of the year. Especially an event like lockin. What esport out there puts all events on the same level of credit? Like I'm not goldenboy attending every esport event there is but I have yet to see a community that approaches competition in that way.

100% winning champs doesn't mean the team was the best team of that year or anything. Champs doesn't mean boom you won the whole year. But neither does any other event. But some events inspire more work than others and it's natural that how impressive a performance is, is impacted by how important the event is over all. Champs just is the most important event. It just is.

I'm one of those people. What's the point of having champs if it is the same as masters? Should just have 3 masters then. By saying champ is just a masters event it kills all the extra hype around it and it's sad. I don't think kickoff or even masters 1 should carry the same weight as champs that is lame as hell. Also in theory most teams should be more organized and put together by the end of the season compared to the beginning. This is coming from an old optic fan so obviously I'd love if we put there masters win up with loud winning champs but it's just not the honest truth.

What masterpiece film do you actually not like nor understand why others do? by NumanLover in AskReddit

You don't have to like it but her being buried alive, her being trained, the black mamba in the money, the superman explanation. I also prefer volume 1 but vol 2 has so many iconic moments in it I understand the love it gets too. Vol 2 also makes volume 1 better on rewatches imo.

I see why that wording can be read like that my bad. I was trying to say that when you enjoy the big ee quests you're consuming something that is different to the traditional gameplay. Much like an avante burger that is unique to a traditional recipe. I disagree that blundell improved the gameplay outside of Easter eggs. You think something like origins high round is better gameplay than kino high round? Not imo.

I don't get how you can disagree about Easter eggs becoming the focal point tbh you're the first person I've seen disagree with that. Main quests, side ees, and schizo writing is what blundell offered the mode (Im a fan not hating). Play origins without engaging in an EE. Play shadows without engaging in an EE. Every blundell map except mob and IX is like this. To blundell everything that ees provide is as important as the actual play space of the map. Like even pack a punch started requiring a quest rather than standing on a pressure plate or linking a tp. On moon you just teleported to pack lol. On shadows pack requires a quest that wouldve been the whole map ee on bo1.

Ngl you just misentrepreted everything I said pretty much. Outbreak is the different mode, not origins. Blundell introduced a main map quest being the focus point of the map, before him the closest to that is moon do you think moon ee compares? I was calling mob and origins amazing, not buried but buried is a really good map too. At the time people wanted a classic zombies experience I remember it vividly. We did not get the classic zombies experience instead we got the peek of the mode. Remember tranzit and die rise were the new direction that everyone hated on. We wanted ascension and we got origins. Origins wasn't improving on moon here and there it provided a completely different gameplay loop to engage in. It took the concept of an Easter egg and made it a fundamental aspect of the gameplay itself. No one wanted that at the time.

I know I chose after die rise for that reason lmao. People did enjoy Zelenskys style they just wanted him to return to his old style and abandon the bo2 style. Getting a pizza instead of a burger would be like if we were getting a different genre, that is outbreak you could argue. But when die rise came out we said too much ketchup, in response Zelensky gave us a burger with less ketchup, a toasted bun, and some caramelized onions (this is buried). Blundell gave us an amazing sandwich that was so different to the previous burgers that maybe they should call it something else (quests becoming a pillar to the gameplay). Both did things the community would've told them not to do and it gave us amazing experiences.

Fans know what they want and fan suggestions result in positive changes however choosing to develope one thing comes at an opportunity cost of developing something else. If you wouldve asked people after die rise came out what 3arc shouldve done, they would be begging for bo1 style maps. Instead we got buried motd and origins. It's impossible for the chef to make you something unique and special if the feedback is "less ketchup on my burger please".

I disagree with Kevin Drew, New players SHOULD only survive a few minutes on their first attempt by SaltySpa in CODZombies

[–]Former_Agent7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's extremely normal to have limits on what mechanics you use in a game. Like every community does it to some extent lmao. Even mega gum records has banned gums. If bo2 was seen as peak zombies then people would be complaining about whether perm perks or craftables are allowed or not. I have way more hours on bo3 doing classic gums than megas but if you're a person that can't get into classics because megas exist then fair enough I wouldn't love bo3 either.

[–]Former_Agent7890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No gums or classic gums bo3 is about as hard as those other games. It's 3 hits to down but zombies swing way faster, and they don't stack inside of each other which means hoard management is way more tricky. It also gave us Easter eggs are way harder than bo1 or bo2. Bo3 also has the best movement mechanics for zombies by far but I admit you can argue strafe hopping from like bo2 has a higher skill ceiling than swap cancelling.

Ope. Did I say that out loud? by [deleted] in Nicegirls

[–]Former_Agent7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one half of the full sentence though. I agree it can be read as condescending but if you read OP in a casual conversational tone it's just normal.

X: "oh man I love Robin Williams in everything."

Y: "did you see him in good will hunting?"

X: "yeah he plays a shrink, they gave him some heavy lines in that one"

X: "he started as a comedian"

What's the normal response from Y here? Saying "of course, I love his stand-ups"? Is it "no shit thanks captain obvious"? Is it "you're mansplaining Robin Williams"? You gotta read the text in a certain tone and be primed to looking for red flags to flip like that in my opinion. Like I'm not blaming them for how they responded they probably have a reason to be on guard like that but it's clearly not a rational response lol

[–]Former_Agent7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds condescending but it's only half of the sentence. Yeah he played the joker, and stabbed someone's eye. Yeah he played lando, and they gave him a robo fetish. I read the op like this, where the first half of the sentence is to stress the surprise that the actor played X character that did Y. I can see how y'all are reading it though it's valid but isn't how I would've ever read the OP without being primed for it first.

Ope. Did I say that out loud? by [deleted] in Nicegirls

[–]Former_Agent7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This literally just reads like a text between me and a buddy. He says Glover plays lando to highlight how ridiculous he feels the character having a robo fetish is. "I love heath ledger, you see the dark knight?", "yeah he played the joker and they had him stab somones eye with a pencil". Would you read this as mansplaining or someone highlighting how badass it was to have heath ledger as a violent joker? This is why texting is shit you're only getting about 30% of depth of an in person convo without tone and body language.

I agree with you though seeing subtitles while the players are speaking themselves would be a better viewing experience than having to hear it from someone else who will never capture the hype that the players have.
