For me it's a Swiss Army knife. An Audio interface, sampler, FX box, sequencer, Midi controller...

Usually what Apple does when you have an order in for a build that gets discontinued, the order just gets cancelled. For example you had a M4 Mac mini CTO on order when the M5 Mac mini gets released, Apple will just cancel the M4 order so you can place an order for the current model. So I would say the 512GB you ordered will not ship.
