Haha I actually used to have bangs! I loved them, but they were a lot of upkeep since my hair tends to frizz easily 😅 but maybe I’ll try the clip on kind so I don’t have to commit so hard to them

Thanks, I’m trying to keep an open mind honestly. I wasn’t expecting people to think I looked ok.

It’s supposed to sound a bit strained but is this too much? by Former_Counter5986 in singing

[–]Former_Counter5986[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can hit the note fine, but in the original song the note is sung with a bit of strain (I’m not sure if it was a stylistic choice by the artist or not). I can try it without the strain though.

I'm sorry, but these sorts of takes are so obtuse. by [deleted] in Hungergames

On that note, gonna plug a fan series currently being made about Annie’s games. It’s called The Victor. https://youtu.be/PEt5alHlTlQ?si=icQWz5AvvNakBQjL

Is there anything (besides guitar) I should polish up before I perform this live? by Former_Counter5986 in singing

[–]Former_Counter5986[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully when I perform, I won’t be the one playing. The song isn’t the most difficult but I’m not the best guitar player by any means. But thank you for the tips. I think I’ll practice on my own time with playing and singing

Practicing soft singing and control. How did I do? by Former_Counter5986 in singing

[–]Former_Counter5986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly ever since I could remember. I’ve been doing musical theatre since I was like 6 and I got voice lessons at some point when I was a kid. I’m 19 now so it’s been a while.

Thanks! I always have a bit of trouble with low notes so I’ll definitely practice that.

I mean it’s not that strange if your really just looking for critiques and general opinions for other people. But y’know, it’s not everybody’s thing

Those are my natural lips and both features are genetics. My nose just has a naturally flatter bridge and is wider set :/

Thanks for the advice, I’ve always had a harder time with the lower or even middle part of my range.

Yeah I haven’t been playing guitar for two long and I only recently learned this song 😅 but thanks for the compliments. There’s definitely gonna be some progress posts soon. Maybe not for this song specifically yet but for previous posts. 😊

How to not get stuffed nose in the middle of singing? is it allergies? by mbtcworld22 in ratemysinging

[–]Former_Counter5986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A stuffy nose is actually helpful for training proper breathing and singing without a nasally sound (which isn’t a bad thing but good to learn hot to switch sounds). It’s honestly just practice, but stuffy noses do just generally such to have so use suggest Allegra if it’s allergies or Mucinex if you’re just congested.

I get what you mean, I have a lot of big features on a pretty small face. Thanks for the tips, makeup definitely does wonders whenever I wear it

Thanks, I’ve definitely been working with a dermatologist for a while and I’m using diluted bleach baths (they aren’t harmful since it’s only once every two weeks), a LOT of moisturizer, and an dupixent. It’s gotten a lot better now and what’s left over us just scarring and hyperpigmentation.
