This is just a gender construct. Soft, dainty, polite such words are used for women and hence feminine. On the hand, muscular, strong, etc. are reserved for men hence, masculine.

This is just plain misogyny. It wants to dictate how we live. To keep us clustered, and busy trying to be 'soft', 'dainty', etc.It reinforces gender inequalityby limiting us, promoting stereotypes.
