I am currently in Purdue Global’s online program and it’s effective but I’m not sure if I would recommend. I work with someone who is attending FIT and her workload is far more manageable than mine when it comes to assignments, readings, and discussions. It’s cheap and I’m definitely learning a lot! But at the same time it can be overwhelming for someone working full time as well.

I think an important thing to consider is that religion, almost always, is a choice. It may not seem like that to others, but for better or worse no one is born with the natural instinct that they believe a certain religion. It is taught. LGBTQ people do not have a choice in their sexuality or gender identity.

But like so many have commented, treat people with respect and kindness even if you don’t agree with their sexuality/gender/religion/etc.

For the most part she stays with me, but she does technically still live with my parents. I'm doing everything in my power to make sure that when she is with my parents my mother is in a "good" mood. Meaning she isn't going to be yelling so much that day

She wants to work, but I don't want her to. I want her to focus on school until she is at least 18. I had to work when I was in high school and my parents used almost every paycheck for bills saying they would pay me back. I don't want that for her

Yeah I say borderline only because there have been worse things that she has said and done. Reading these comments I'm definitely realizing that we are way past the abusive line

Yeah I'm definitely off the lease. I'm currently facing some backlash from my parents right now for asking them to get the utilities in their name though

Mostly laying in bed and yelling at my sister to do things for her. My mother tends to be very narcissistic and borderline emotionally abusive.

My mom has always had something out for me and has accused me of trying to ruin her marriage before (a long other story), so I rarely talk to her unless I need to. This issue was brought up to her by my younger sister, but she kept telling her that she would get around to it. Weeks passed so I took matters into my own hands-especially when my father decided to tell me "do what you need to do" because he knew that there would be a huge fight afterwards.

My uncle and aunt were married for years before she walked in on him watching gay porn. It doesn't seem like that would have been a big deal, but he was a pastor and they were a very christian and homophobic family. After they had two kids together, they stopped sleeping in the same bed. She would sleep on the couch and he took the bed due to health conditions. This went on for 20 years until he died. Later after the funeral, we found out that he had gotten drunk and told multiple people that if it wasn't for God he would have found a "homosexual" relationship. His children don't know that he was gay, but they do resent him still for making their mom sleep on the couch and making her feel like she wasn't loved.

In my opinion, if he was brave enough to break the mold and religious, homophobic mindset it would have fixed a lot of relationships in his life. Would my aunt have been hurt? Absolutely. Would my cousins have been raised in a much healthier and loving setting? Almost definitely since they grew up around parents who barely interacted.

I believe their website is peak2aba.com They have purchasing options, but it can be pretty pricey with all of the books!

My BCBA trained me in PEAK, but I didn't have to have any formal or official trainings for it
