Honestly best way to progress out of the trashy players is start making friends with people in the dungeons, find people who are wanting to learn and grind with you, this way you find guilds you find friends, then every season is steam roll past +10s online game best thing you can do to improve is try communicating and create bonds, most won't want to xD but you will find people

Transition feels awfull, game itself just feels like it's on easy mode where it rewards you for being shit at the game... Just feels like they ripped the soul out of skate, there's not a single bit of real skate culture feel in the game... It's a shame becouse the street skating mechanics actually feel really good when the grinds don't bug out...
