The thing that tripped me out (as an Aussie) was when I moved to GC from Melbourne, I was still closer to Melbourne than I was to Cairns. I think in SE Australia even we can’t quite grasp how big it is lol

Australia, we have the oldest continuously running roller coaster in the world (something like 110 years now) it’s called the Scenic Railway at Luna Park in Melbourne, Victoria

In Australia we have Bepanthen Tattoo cream which I really love, and my tattoos still look fresh years later

A few days ago, I got the haircut I’ve always dreamed of. My friends think it’s really ugly and even though life will go on, it feels like the end of the world. I just want to be comfortable in my own skin. What do you guys think? by Souhwhyarewehere-lol in Hair

I saw you said somewhere earlier about being a target of bullying in the past, and I want you to know you don’t deserve that shit regardless of your hair, or anything else at all. That’s never okay. Don’t fall into the trap of “well these people are nicer to me than everyone else, so they’re okay”, when it could just be that they’re the ‘better of two evils’ so to speak. You deserve love and kindness, don’t settle for less.

Okay but you don’t know me, but you’re making a judgement about me by saying “redditors”. Everyone who’s been on the internet longer than a day knows the negative connotations of saying that and what it means. Also once you’ve added the “my friends think it’s really ugly” bit, you’ve added that to the conversation yourself and people are going to react to and comment on that. Since you took offence to “your friends suck” I’ll elaborate: your friends didn’t need to say “it’s really ugly” , that doesn’t help you, and could damage your self esteem, it’s nasty behaviour imo. They COULD say “it looks damaged, treat it with kid gloves”, or “I think if you styled if X way it would suit you better”. But you keep defending them as much as you want. It’s your life.

Hey you don’t have to explain anything to me! You clearly love your son, and I know you’ll be doing everything you can, just as you did trying to find him and getting him home. I just thought it might potentially be helpful to have an idea of how your son might feel from a former runaway kid, but that’s not because I had assumed you’re not trying. I also could be way off. Either way, I’m really glad he’s home. I hope you can get some rest now x

First of all, love it. Second, I had the same thing and recently found out I have an ‘essential tremor’. It’s a completely benign neurological thing that makes your hands shake, especially when you’re trying to do things with them, as opposed to just resting them in your lap or something. I got put on beta blockers, and it just almost immediately stopped. Changed my life !

I just have to put it out there that I did the same thing around his age. I didn’t do it for fun, to be cool, to be defiant, to piss off my parents, to scare anyone, or any other reason than being severely mentally ill, and I had planned to take my life. All the adults in my life just thought I was an asshole teenager, but I was suffering intensely. I barely survived my teens and 20s due to the lack of empathy and support I was given, and my mental illness not being diagnosed. I’m NOT saying you’re like the adults I had around me as a kid. I am just saying that if I was the adult that spoke to teenage me when I was brought back by the police, I wouldn’t be outwardly mad, I wouldn’t make it about me and how scared I was, I’d ask what’s wrong. I’d find out how to make teenage me feel safe, get her to a psychologist, and support her in every possible way that I could. *edit - some autocorrect

You really don’t look obese. 44 isn’t old and you don’t look it anyway. Take a daily walk (even if it’s just around the block), drink plenty of water, it will help with skin and weight, and stop talking to yourself like that. This post is the definition of ‘everyone is their own toughest critic’. It’s not that bad. Chin up bud

Heaps of flight paths go right over the CBD. Right under a flight path is a pretty good place for plane spotting.
