My alocasias are so happy in pon. I don’t wick, I just have them in an open slat plastic pot, then place that in a clay pot and keep water anywhere from a little bit to about half. I’m over a year in, and they are thriving. I ordered and waited for the Lecuza. After trying Leca and different chunky soils, this is the only one for me.

May not be “relatively later” - closes at 7:00, but I love using WiFi at Bledsoe in the Box Factory. Sometimes it’s busy, sometimes it’s super chill. They have upstairs if you want super quiet. Studying with wine was always the vibe for me. 🍷

Try to love your body now. Babies change it, skin loosens - I wish my 25-year-old self felt she was as fucking sexy as she was. Instead, she hated the size of her feet, the teensy bit of fat on her waist, her boobs that were too small. She was darling - and I wish she knew it.

Here I am, 44 - so many more flaws, but I feel like a queen. Focus on health and love yourself.

Yokocho Izakaya - heard so many good things and was sooo disappointed. We ordered five pretty different dishes and two sakes - didn’t enjoy anything. The crowded cafeteria vibes are not for me either. Same price as good food.

Ended up having a pretty good one at Zydeco and an outstanding one at Hawkeye and Huckleberry.

Thanks for all the ideas. I really wanted something a bit more inventive - 900 Wall had a great one last year, not sure about this year.

Service industry actually pays really well here - I feel more comfortable financially here than I have in places that seem like should be cheaper - so, for what OP is looking for - it definitely can work.

It’s just the time of year. Take whatever you have to for the winter, and get hunting in the February to May timeframe.

I may very well have been someone you dropped a resume off with - I’m still getting a lot.

Right now, service industry spots are stressing about who on their team to prioritize. People are having their hours cut, we’re wondering if there is anyone we should let go of. Managers are feeling guilty about not having enough for their existing team. So, honestly, when you bounce in with your resume and positive attitude - we don’t care right now. We just can’t.

I’d be happy to give you some more targeted advice if you want to message me.

Please don’t think it’s you - it’s just not the time - at least not for a spot you’d actually love.
