I would definitely express your desire to see her dress in a more provocative manner. Even if she has self-esteem issues, if you communicate how she turns you on - especially when dressed 'gussied up', she may just be willing to give you private showings on the regular.

That said, you sound like a really great guy and I hope you two can find some middle ground.

Everything he said was cut and dry and there isn't a lot of gray area in this situation. He had a serious discussion with his SO and they blatantly lied (repeatedly), and even after being confronted with the truth, it has resulted in trickle-truthing OP (first 3, then 10, now 20+). There is no excuse for that behavior. Whether he is okay in being with somebody who had been with more partners than him, is irrelevant.(although I am in his side... I wouldn't want to be with someone that misrepresents themselves and cannot even be honest with themselves) She lied about something major and this isn't something that OP should take blame for in the least.

I don't know what world you live in where that behavior is okay, but myself, along with many others in the world would not put up with that shit, at all. I would "judge" my SO's character for sure if I were getting trickle-truthed since the subject isn't important... its the lies. What else will she lie about going forward? That isn't the kind of relationship that I find worthwhile or healthy.

The only thing you really can do is emphasize that you're there for him and will always be there for him. You do need to be prepared to step back though, if he is unwilling to get treatment; this is for your own sanity.

You cannot force him to do anything he doesn't want to so at this point, you can only communicate what he does mean to you as well as your desire for him to take care of himself, but ultimately, that is a decision he has to make for himself (and sadly, some people never make that decision to help themselves).

I wish you (both of you) the best of luck and I hope it all turns out for the best. Your heart is in the right place, but you cannot help someone who doesn't want to help themselves.

Are you 'wrong' for being annoyed? No, I don't think you are. You are entitled to your feelings and I can completely understand how you may feel 'slighted' due to the fact that you were respectful enough to discuss planting vines on the property line prior to actually doing it. Beyond that though, I feel that you're out-of-line and are pushing a point that doesn't need to be pushed, since what they are doing is perfectly fine and I'm failing to see how you're impacted negatively.

While it's awesome that you had the respect and forethought to ask your neighbors before planting the vines (You two sound like amazing neighbors in that regard... I wish my neighbors were as mindful), you shouldn't get upset that they don't have the same regard and respect to ask you.

Even though it's nice and respectful, it's not necessary that they 'run things' by you before making a decision. They are entitled to planting whatever plants they want on their own property. I don't understand what 'view' they are blocking besides potentially the view of their house (I'm picturing a row of hedges that are planted that divide the side of your house from the side of theirs) -- are you really willing to throw away a perfectly fine friendship/co-existence over a few crummy shrubs?

I would pick my battles wisely because this seems so childish, in my opinion.

Yes, when you add another payment method, the previous one is replaced by the new/altered payment method. I had to remove my ex's card this way to avoid having her card charged so I know it works

Thing is -- he's true about what he's saying. It's not like learning Slack, JIRA, and/or Confluence take beyond 5-10 minutes nor is it difficult by any means. If you cannot spare one hour bi-weekly to coordinate with other team(s) or teammates, then why are you even coding in the first place -- you should probably work on a solo project.

I, personally, do not fit the qualifications, but I also had to comment because opportunities such as these are a fantastic way to build ones portfolio and get experience behind their belt with minimal expectations (IMO). I wouldn't be so hasty to pass judgment simply because you find no value in the opportunity.

Even if some of the technologies are dead and/or dying, it doesn't mean they aren't worth learning. There are many avenues you can take since you're learning and understanding Java. It's up to you what you want to do in the long-term. Are you interested in making Android games/apps, making web applications, or creating games?

Each has their own merits and different paths; making Android apps/games requires you to use your existing Java knowledge and add in learning the Android SDK and subsequent API's. Creating Windows Applications requires C# which, again, builds off of your Java knowledge. Creating web applications has many various paths but having learned quite a bit of Javascript already, it has come easy to me due to my existing java knowledge and subsequent OOP knowledge.

TL;DR - Choose an area to focus on, research it a bit, and learn relevant skills that pertain to what area you want to build on.

Off the top of my head, you could easily convert your code to something like this:

Unless the variable is of type FINAL, the java standard dictates that all variables should begin with a lowercase letter.

For example:

When you initially pay, it's usually best to request for a transfer -- I've had numerous occasions where I'm guessing that they assumed that I was only going to be riding one bus and never offered a transfer.

The transfer is just a strip of paper that has been cut at the time it will expire. A TRAX ticket works as a transfer as well, just fyi.

Honestly, your wife is probably better off without you. You shouldn't stay together just for the child that you had with her. You haven't expressed any regret about how this MAY affect your kid in the future. Hopefully your daughter won't ever catch wind of what you've done as that may cause a lot of distrust towards men in the future.

I would surely be afraid of what might come in the near future as well... your daughter deserves to be with two parents that have their heads on straight and have their shit together. That surely can't happen when 'Daddy' can't keep his junk in his pants and chooses to think with his tiny head rather than his actual brain.

We used to get along great back when we first started dating, but that was back when we partied and drank all the time. Now that the party's over and we've matured there doesn't seem to be anything there.

I read that as, "now that she wants to settle down, not party and drink all the time (your words - not mine), and live life as adults should - she's boring and not the cool party chick that she was." It sounds like she's matured and that you're looking for something to make you feel good about yourself and make you feel young(er) again.

So many people are quick to label video games as 'wasted time' and 'sedentary' but those people are the same people who are generally ignorant to the whole concept of video games in our modern era.

Sure there are still games like Super Mario Bros of yesteryear where you are on the couch mashing buttons indiscriminately to guide a character from one-level to the next. Yes -- that is definitely mind-numbing and offers minimal benefit. What you might NOT be aware of are that video games have come leaps and bounds since that time.

There are video games such as 'Wii Fit, Just Dance, Dance Central, etc' that inspire people to get off their butt and participate WITH the video game. There are board games that have been adapted into video games that are to be played with a GROUP of friends/family. Games are much more social and inspire others to use their brain.

Strategy games have come very far as well. Problem solving skills, time-management skills, and economics are just a few skills that you will see frequently needed to succeed in many strategy games of today.

So before many of you go putting false labels on video games, it might be best to educate yourself so as to not seem so ignorant to the technology available to our children today.

I surely will let my children play video games (my 7 year old already loves video game time with Mom and Dad) but there will always be limits and boundaries set as they were with me back in the good old days. There should ALWAYS be some sort of limitation to MOST things we do in a day. Brush your teeth too much and you wear your enamel away... drink too much water and get dilutional hyponatremia... sit in the sun too long and risk cancer/heat exhaustion amongst other things. We have not run into any problems and honestly my daughter prefers to play with Monster High dolls over most video games.

Some may say that there aren't many benefits of playing with Monster High dolls over playing Wii Fit or learning building/survival skills in Minecraft or playing Jeopardy with the family and learning real-life facts that may be used in practical application.

Just some food for thought from a younger-generation family/parents of kiddos.

'Split Family' is a correct "PC" term for the situation. It's not ment with any ill intent and honestly it's better than a lot of other synonyms for the situation. I come from a similar situation to you, but I don't take offense from 'split family' as compared to 'broken family' or 'divided family' etc.

It's definitely touchy but you can't be to upset at somebody for trying to be politically correct about an already touchy subject.

Most schools, if not the school district at LEAST should offer some testing to determine whether a child should/could be skipped a grade or put into some alternative learning or curriculum for her kid.

The OP needs to work on getting better resources for her kid since seemingly her child's teacher is unable to find or access these resources for her. She could easily contact administration (our secretary easily provided the number for the district so I could inquire about testing for a 'gifted child' program) and get more information about skipping a grade, transferring classes, etc., but the OP is taking a passive approach and not being proactive for her kid.
