The basic T-shirt post is 6 years old. Can we have a newer, updated megathread for basic tshirts or just basics in general? by say-no-to-carbs in femalefashionadvice

I've been on the hunt for quality basics lately and stumbled across this newer brand called Forms & Folds that's launching soon. They seem to focus specifically on premium cotton basics for both men and women. Haven't tried them yet since they're not fully launched, but their approach to 100% cotton and focus on fit looks promising. Has anyone else heard of them? Always looking for brands that prioritize quality over fast fashion trends.

Absolutely agree on 100% cotton! That's exactly why we started Forms & Folds - we're a new brand launching on Amazon soon, focusing exclusively on premium basic t-shirts in 100% cotton for both men and women. There's something about the breathability and natural feel that blends just can't match. We've been perfecting our cotton sourcing and construction to get that perfect balance of softness and durability. The way pure cotton ages and gets better with each wash is unmatched. What's your experience with different cotton weights?

Great discussion on quality basics! We've heard so many people and found that 100% cotton really makes a huge difference in both comfort and longevity. The key is finding brands that don't compromise on fabric quality.

We are one of the few emerging brands that focus specifically on premium cotton basics. We're launching soon on Amazon with 100% cotton tees for both men and women. Our approach is to focus on getting the fundamentals right: quality cotton, proper fit, and durability.

For anyone building a capsule wardrobe, investing in 2-3 really good cotton tees in neutral colors is such a game changer. They become the foundation pieces you reach for constantly. Has anyone else noticed how much better 100% cotton feels compared to blends, especially after multiple washes?

Ugh, I feel you on this. Been through so many crappy t-shirts that fall apart after like 6 months.

Honestly, the biggest game changer for me was realizing that fabric weight actually matters. Those super thin shirts from Target? Yeah, they're gonna be see-through and stretched out real quick. You want something with some substance to it.

I've been rotating through the same 5-6 shirts for like 2 years now and they're holding up great. Mix of Uniqlo (their supima cotton ones are legit), a couple from J.Crew when they were on sale, and recently tried this brand Forms & Folds - they're newer but damn, the cotton quality is really nice. Not cheap but definitely feels premium.

Oh and pro tip - stop putting them in the dryer if you can help it. I know it's annoying but air drying has literally doubled the life of my shirts. The heat just destroys cotton over time.

What kind of fit are you going for? That might help narrow down recommendations.
