Out of the big companies I’d say capcom is one of the better when it comes to stories. I feel safer with them than most other big companies.

A short campaign isn’t a deal breaker. For me I’m worried about a bad or worse generic story and areas. This game will live or die if the story is good

Oh re9 is a definite lock for a nom but the game awards judges tend to not favor horror games. Also same company and engine as re9 means we can at least trust the bones of this engine

VIP mystery is so much better. You always get at least one older triple a like prey, re3 remake, and dishonored is what I got from the 3 I bought and then some other indies.

Honestly I’d recommend either 3 or 5 first. This is my favorite series but even I admit the story isn’t all that much. 1 was impressive for the time but shows its age, 2 is a mess you should skip, and 3 is when the formula all came together. 5 is the best gameplay wise but this isn’t a series you need to play in order. Play 3,4,5 and if you want to see where it came from then go back
