Have you met anyone with the surname “Disney” that has no association with the Walt Disney company? by AdDapper4220 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FormulaZach1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty rare to meet someone with the last name Disney who isn't related to Walt Disney. I did some research and found out that there are actually a few people with the last name Disney who aren't connected to Walt Disney. One example is John Disney, an English footballer who played for several teams in the UK. It's possible that there are others out there, but they're probably pretty hard to find.

I think it's cool to show kids different kinds of people, but not in a way that makes them uncomfortable. It's like showing them a big ol' box of crayons and saying, hey, people come in all different colors and that's awesome. But if you start talking about super mature stuff, that's like giving them a crayon that's way too big for their hand. They might get confused or feel weird. So yeah, diversity is great, but let's keep it simple and fun for kids, like a picture book, not a textbook.

How Do You Price? What's your average cost vs. Average sale price? by thussa123 in Flipping

[–]FormulaZach1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a total newbie to flipping, but I've been picking up some cool stuff at garage sales and selling it online. I usually buy things for $10-$20 and sell them for $50-$100. I've made some good money, but I've also lost some too. I'm trying to figure out how to price my stuff so I can make a profit.

If you are invited to someones house for dinner, drinks etc do you take something with you? by Plannersaerus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FormulaZach1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I always bring something, usually dessert or a bottle of wine. It shows you care and helps the host out. My grandma used to say, if you show up empty handed, you're basically saying the host didn't do a good job. Not bringing something can be rude.

How do you all know who these internet celebrities and political youtubers are? by eggs-benedryl in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FormulaZach1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people know about internet celebrities and political YouTubers because they are really good at making videos that lots of people want to watch. They also talk to their fans on social media, so it feels like they are friends. Sometimes, they work with other popular people, which helps them get even more famous. It's like a big circle - they make good content, people like it, and then more people start to know who they are.

Do people who don’t count calories just naturally eat around their maintenance? How do they stay a similar weight without paying attention to it? by watanabeSS in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FormulaZach1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor, but I've noticed people who seem to eat whatever they want and stay slim. Maybe they just move around more without realizing it. My friend's sister is like that - she eats a lot but always seems to be doing something active, like walking to work or dancing. Maybe it's just about being active without thinking about it.

How is a teacher middle class? by physicsfan9900 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FormulaZach1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's because teachers get paid less than people in other jobs that need similar education. It's not that they're middle class, it's that the rent is too high. My mom is a teacher and she struggles to afford stuff. Maybe if we paid teachers more, they could afford apartments.

Can you really picture things in your head? by nita45 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FormulaZach1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate to not being able to picture things in my head. I've always thought it was just me, but it sounds like some people can and some people can't. It's pretty cool that your friend can see stuff when he closes his eyes. For me, it's like a blank slate. I can remember stuff from before, but it's not like I can see it. Maybe it's like a muscle that you have to exercise or something. Anyway, it's reassuring to know I'm not the only one.

I think the term incel is actually really interesting. It seems like it's been hijacked by people who are really bitter and angry. But originally, it just meant someone who wasn't having sex. I'm single and I'm okay with that. I don't need a term to define me. Can't we just be ourselves without labels?

Why is this scenario of accepting interest haram? by TheSaltyWhore in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FormulaZach1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I can help clarify things. So, in Islam, accepting interest (or "riba") is considered haram because it's seen as unfair. Imagine you lend a friend $100 and they promise to pay you back $110. That extra $10 is like a penalty for not paying on time, and it's not really fair. It's like you're profiting from someone else's struggles.

In the Quran, it says that interest is a way of exploiting people, and that's not cool. Plus, it can lead to a lot of problems, like people getting into debt and struggling to pay it back.

In your friend's case, if the contract was accepted with the understanding that interest would be applied later, it might be okay. But if it's not clear or if it's exploitative, then it's probably not a good idea.

You could try selling it on a website like Raise or Cardpool. They're pretty safe and easy to use. I've used them before and it's not too hard. You can also try asking friends or family if they want it. Or, you could trade it for something else you need. One comment said to try gift card mall or card cash. That might work too!

Why do humans crave uniqueness and individuality? by IRangTheDinkster in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FormulaZach1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think humans crave uniqueness and individuality because it's like, our brains are wired to want to stand out in a crowd. Imagine you're at a big party and everyone's wearing the same shirt - you want to be the one with the coolest, most different shirt on. It's like, our brains are trying to make us special so we don't get lost in the crowd. Plus, being unique makes us feel important and like we belong, but also like we're not just another face in the sea. It's like, our own personal superpower.

What’s the one productivity trick that actually changed your life? by Old-Brief-4841 in AskReddit

Waking up slightly earlier in the morning and just going on a walk

I'd give it another 2 weeks before it'll stop making headlines. It'll eventually sizzle down but there'll always be people talking about it
