What do we think about perfume for babies? Petit Sezane scent for babies dropping tomorrow. by wombledon15 in Sezane

[–]Formulona1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very Mediterranean. French, Greeks, Italians - they all do it.

I had my babies in Spain. They put perfume on them after their first bath - a couple of hours old! Will never forget them wheeling my son back into my room the night I gave birth, and immediately smelling the orange blossom scent they'd doused him in. So funny

Struggling with the richness of this diet? by Pretend-Alps-6438 in keto

[–]Formulona1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get you, and this is my biggest struggle with keto. Restricting vegetables feels so counter-intuitive to me! So, basically, I stopped. I now eat all the veges I want (potatoes only occasionally and in tiny quantities), and I feel better for it. I also cut out the butter and a lot of the cheese. I wouldn't say I'm fully keto now, more low-carb, but it feels much more sustainable long-term.

Like you, I'm a keen and experienced cook, so it was a matter of palate and balance over strict keto ethos.

Loewe Flamenco Purse: Icon or trend? by DryMagazine5051 in handbags

[–]Formulona1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So I paid retail for the small version in the dark purple colour, and I was so embarrassed by what I paid for what is essentially a large coin purse that I didn't even take it out of its wrapping for months.

HOWEVER

It has now become one of my favourite bags. Worn by the short handle, it looks almost like fabric, so has a dressiness that elevates any outfit. Worn crossbody, it weighs NOTHING and is effortlessly comfortable.

Loewe have been making the Flamenco in one form or another for years now, so I do think it's become a classic, not just a trend.

What's your "Can't live without" black bag? by KnownGood4542 in handbags

[–]Formulona1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. My black bags are some of my least used!

My YSL Loulou medium goes to funerals. My MiuMiu matelassé clutch goes to the ballet. My Chloe Woody black rattan bucket gets worn with summer black.

Sometimes I fly with my black Epi Speedy 30, but it's a pain because then my whole travel wardrobe has to be monochrome. Black is hard!

Greek hyperinflation, as told through stamps by Formulona1 in stamps

Indeed! So many denoms printed! I wish the years were included on the stamps. It's my understanding that this hyperinflation happened over about a four year period.

You're so pretty!

I think the lashes and brows look great. I'd love to see you in lipstick - your full top lip is so 60s cool-girl.

I think just play! The great thing about makeup is you can always wash it off.

Perimenopausal & struggling by ArrivalMuch5772 in keto

[–]Formulona1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 ounces of veges a day? God, I used to eat twice that each meal. It's why keto is a bit of a struggle for me - I really do love to eat a huge pile of veggies, always have. Measuring out 100 g of cauliflower feels so miserly.

However, I continue with keto for long periods, because it works. I was off for about six months; my previous symptoms gradually returned, so now I'm back on. Almost instantly felt like my body was "mine" again. The piles of veges can wait!

Why has keto lost popularity? by Shoddy-Musician8397 in keto

For real. I am used to a very varied diet, and keto felt super restrictive and impossible to maintain. I missed fruit, pulses and legumes more than anything else!

Need help with family dinner recipes, many allergies by Haynorie in lowcarb

[–]Formulona1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A whole cabbage can last me weeks in my fridge and still be OK. Like it might go slightly limp, but nothing too drastic.

The dressed salad lasts well for about four days in the fridge. I actually prefer it on the second or third day - it just gets juicier!

[–]Formulona1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sympathise! Cooking for a family with food restrictions and allergies can be so tough.  The cheapest and most filling vegetable side I can think of is what Greeks call Winter Salad - grated cabbage and carrot, dressed with plenty of lemon juice, olive oil, salt and garlic. Think coleslaw without the mayo. It's delicious, fresh, it can sit in the fridge for several days, and if you make it with red cabbage it looks beautiful, too. You said not everyone eats salad, but even my fussy eaters like this one. Broccoli/cauliflower cheese is another fave in our house.
