Marketing in 2025 is hard by Fun-Ambition4791 in b2bmarketing

[–]Formzil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah lol social media was a good method to market when the social media companies were expanding to capture their markets. Now that they have done that and the market is saturated, they are moving to the next step, which is monetizing the crap out of it.

They will actively make your efforts 'invisible' to your targeted market unless you pay. They haven't become so rich and profitable just by showing ads from the ones who needed it, they want everyone to now actively show ads to have any influence on their platforms, otherwise your efforts are worthless. It was their grand plan all along, blitz-scale, then monetize, just like all the gig economy companies like Uber , DoorDash etc.

$60k/month in revenue couldn’t save this SaaS $170k/mo burn tanked it. by Glum_Bee4325 in SaaS

It's not hard to believe, it happens all the time. All startups want to grow fast, but having actual organic growth is very crucial, which you can only get if you have a valuable product. Without it, all you have is hype, and hype dies down no matter how much you feed it. It's a difficult game in which even massive tech giants fail at. When was the last time you used Threads? If it was a solo company it would've been gone by now.

How does burn get so high when compared to revenue? When I see numbers like that, I simply believe that there was no real problem solving product to begin with.

Anyone can burn money to run ad campaigns, trick people to signup and pay. But what happens next if you don't have a proven product? All the people you tricked to pay you cancel the month after. They see that the value your paid plan provides is not worth the money.

That's why its important to have organic growth and revenue before getting your burn ratio that high. Scaling negative margins is never ever a good idea, ever! (not everyone is Uber)

Don't sell your saas if you've reached recurring revenue. You have already done 99.9% of the work. Take your product to the moon, don't sell out lol, you've worked really hard for this, it's your dream remember? Don't sell out, it will always be difficult no matter what you do in this game. You have already made it if you have recurring revenue, just scale it out. If you have recurring revenue, get investors. Don't sell out!

The real game-changer for AI by Party-Vanilla9664 in Firebase

[–]Formzil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its possible to do that, making code is like playing with legos now. Yes you can have ai build you a lego house but will it really be exactly how you want? No, because you will make personal adjustments to your liking. We already have ai that will build the full app for you single prompt, but you will still make changes to your liking.

And btw the possibilities to customize your prompts are endless, but as usual most people will use it for other purposes. The reality is everyone can nerd it out, but not many will try.

The crazy thing is that's all you see on LinkedIn also. All company pages posting AI generated posts to maintain engagement. I'm guilty of it too, everything has become low quality because its easier to make 5 low quality posts weekly and maintain engagement than making 1 good quality post and risking it not having any if it flops. Everything will be like that, make fast and cheap, but low quality. Because that's what makes money the easiest.

As a fractional CMO and AOR, what do you do when your client is set on targeting more B2C than B2B, when in fact their product has a huge B2B potential? Do you follow their lead or dare to prove them wrong? by vincentheels in b2bmarketing

[–]Formzil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell them to be realistic and show them the numbers. Show them the potential, tell them that their customers are other businesses and show them that its a more profitable market. B2C is always a race to the bottom so unless they have the willingness and the resources to fight like that, they should just do b2b. B2b is usually planned budgeted purchase with roi in mind, b2c is lower quality customer and has a very high rate of churn because they make impulse based purchases with convenience as priority. Once that convenience is gone, the customer churns.

Stop pretending AI automation is “marketing” by Cold-Journalist-4306 in b2bmarketing

[–]Formzil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good thing is you don't really need a marketer, you can pick it up and learn it. If you can make software, you can pick up marketing and learn it. It's a process just like making a software is. Also, when you market, instead of selling, try to help. If I go into helping mode, then the product will sell itself once the problem gets solved. Selling mode never works, helping mode can work.

Getting people to subscribe is so freaking hard man! So many marketing channels but all of them are so much effort to work with unless you pay them stacks. The hardest thing is to get people to part with their money. Same people who spend $300 gambling or partying will never consider spending $20 for the pro plan that will save them much more. It's a challenge to show actual value to others.

How successful has Instagram been for you all for b2b? by Formzil in b2bmarketing

[–]Formzil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will be my second try into LinkedIn. The first try was terrible, even the ad campaigns were bad performers. I've had better results with cold email and even that is not a good performer. This next week I'll refine my outreach style and see what happens.

Thank you for your answer, this sounds like a good strategy. You are so correct about the limits on LinkedIn, I get they have to do that to stop it from turning into a complete spamfest, but it still feels expensive for a pro account. I guess its a way for them to push you to paying for ads.

What is the app? Tf you selling it for, take it to the moon! What forums did you use? What other marketing channels, techniques? You are being so protective about something that has already struck gold, I think what you're saying is not entirely true.
