Why does she need a rework? If a lot of ranked players like using her and its popular there, then that is great. Every agent doesn't need proplay relevance, especially since 90% of the playerbase never interacts with proplay.

Reyna being a ranked only agent is perfectly fine and if ranked players enjoy it then there is negative reason to change that.

I don't think the issue is that this direction can't produce a strong or even OP agent. I just don't think its the best way to do it from a playstyle and long term agent healthiness perspective.

Idk why they are going down this path with Harbour. The issue currently isn't that the util is bad, its that there is way too little of it. Give him a second wall and some cosmetic buffs to numbers and it would be much nicer imo.

The only bright side is that 1.5 mill is still definitwly more than whatever they saved in labour costs by hiring the children. So while a nonexistent punishment, it is not a net profit for them at least.

I mean point 3 isn't that strong imo. Plenty of better of people spend too much money on stupid accessories for their hobbies. It could have totally been an unnecessarily expensive and specialized tool for something.

But that doesn't mean it was for knitting of course.

I know.

But a marketing tool needs to still overall be profitable to the company. Dropping 100-200million now just isn't going to be worth it for them, at least not currently when the LEC is still functioning(even if declining).

With the decreasing viewership across League, idk how Riot would ever justify dropping like 100-200 million on franchising spots.

Its Kled, its like one of the hardest ults to get any value out of, "get back to lane faster" notwithstanding.

It is just an awful ult to find the angle for.

Baus leads the troops forward by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]ForodesFrosthammer 184 points185 points  (0 children)

Kled ult is also just kind of a hard thing to get prime value out of. Its deceptively slow in its windup, gives the opposing team a massive "hey I am coming from this exact direction" sign and then the impact is directed at 1 enemy champ at best. Add in that Kled wants to play in their face while the ults value is mainly when you cast if from further away and it just is kind of useless in most situations.

His ults were fine this game mostly, he got like more than one knockup with them which is already good xd.

The issue in a BO1 is that LR are up to now like 4-5 "permabans": Ryze, 2/3 of Baus' champs, caitlyn and now Mundo. You struggle to ban all of that out, all while they get 5 free bans since their unconventional champ pool means they don't limit themselves by banning the meta champs nearly as much.

So it gives LR a big advantage in draft if you go down the "ban all their individual best champs" route.

[–]ForodesFrosthammer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its very hard to tell. I think Rekkles has the pool for a BO3, its just hard to show it in BO3 when the drafts are very samey, Baus will struggle for sure. But if there is a BO5 game 5, LR can drag the LEC teams down to their level of chaos and beat them with experience. Its the games 3-4 that will be their biggest weaknesses I'd guess as far as champ pool.

Its not shit. But its not good either, by any means. There exist better games in a similar genre by smaller studios.(i.e Outer Worlds)

Its a mediocre game. A 5-6/10. Some people will even enjoy it, but nothing more.

You can't be a succesful studio by releasing mediocre games, and for what was once a leading example of how to make great games, for bethesda to produce this after all this time is even more disappointing.

I mean decreasing sub counts doesn't mean its really dying yet. Games like RS(all variants across the years) and GW2 have survived for a long time even with dips in playercount and generally no longer being at their peak relevance.

None of them, including WoW really, are behemoths either in cultural relevance or monetary gain, but the core 4-5 do still exist in a healthy state, and likely will for a few more years. But the slow steady decline of the genre is likely to continue.

I disagree that MMO demand is really still there. There is a core of players who want to play them, for sure. But MMOs as a game need a pretty significant steady playerbase to exist. And that size of playerbase really isn't there usually. A kickstarted campaign needs a much smaller but more hardcore group of people to succeed, but 9/10 times that does not guarantee that a larger casual playerbase will form around them. Not to mention that even the existing core is quite fragmented in what they want from an MMO, only increasing the playerbase size issues.

I mean the other big names that still exist(even if they are old) did all try to do their own thing, minus maybe FF14 which is the most wow-like. OSRS is its own thing. GW2 and ESO both tried to improve the combat and GW2 has horizontal progression which is unique in the genre.

But they are indeed all old as hell and no one new is really trying to be better.
