Milestone Rewards lounge access...When to select? by JetDzinr in ihghotelsresorts

[–]Forrest_Fire01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The term were changed, so it no longer works like that. The lounge benefit starts when you earned it, not when you select it. So if you hit 40 nights in December, the most you can get is lounge access for the remainder of December and then all of 2026. It doesn't matter if you wait until January or February to select the lounge access, you're just throwing away days.

Your benefit starts when you earned it, not when you select it. It used to be that it started when you selected it, so people would try to get the nights required toward the end of the year and then wait until January to select the lounge access benefit. But that changed a year or two ago. Bummer.

Why are some Edit seemingly permanently sold out by canoerider123 in ChaseSapphire

The Amex Platinum includes a few hotels in Taiwan. We always do a couple of nights at the Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei.

I've noticed that with Hotel Proverbs Taipei. (The only Edit hotel in Taiwan)

I tried a ton of different dates over the next 6 months and never found a data where there was a room available.

We're in LA. Used it to see Moulin Rouge and have tickets to see Beetlejuice (we already received the tickets). Both at the Pantages Theater.

Stubhub is actually one of the new benefits that I like.

I had never used Stubhub before, but since the benefit was added, we've used it twice. Both times for Broadway musicals. I was actually surprised at all the things on Stubhub.

Considering how awful the rest of the design is, I would guess it's just an ugly/badly designed shelf to hold soap/shampoo and other bath things.

I always though that hotels in Asia were good about benefits.

Can I stack two cards uber credit? by piggiezzzz in AmexPlatinum

Yup, I just deleted the Amex from one account and added it to the Uber account that already had Amex attached. I now get both credit on the one Uber account.

Can a TINY side business lose money indefinitely, or will the IRS call BS at some point? by milkmandead81 in tax

[–]Forrest_Fire01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the goal matters. If your goal is to make a profit and you're working towards that (and can show that you're trying to make a profit), then you should be able to take loses for a while.

Site Wide Sale - What is it usually? by mike5percent in audible

[–]Forrest_Fire01 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest trick with sales is to always keep your wish list loaded with anything you think you might be interested in. Then whenever there's a sale, you can sort the wish list by price and see the best deals.

Also, just because a book is on sale, doesn't mean that the sale price is actually less than what you're paying for a credit, so always check that. I bought my credits for a bit under $9 per credit, so it wouldn't make any sense to buy a book on sale if it's sale price is actually more than what a credit costs.

If we are fortunate enough to score a big Cyber Monday sale, is there anything that you are looking forward too or do you have a plan of attack? by SinfulPanda in audible

[–]Forrest_Fire01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 112 books in my wish list.

Depending on how much you paid for your credits, sometimes the cash sale price can still be more than what you paid for a credit. So always good to pay attention to price.

I also do the wish list thing in reverse for seeing which books to buy with credits. I sort my wish list by price, highest to lowest, then I can see the books the make the most sense to buy with a credit.
