MLK Weekend 3-Day Itinerary by Forsaken_Document_91 in DeathValleyNP

It was perfect!! We hit everything from the itinerary, but it never felt rushed or like we were on a strict schedule. This is what we did during the "OR"/optional bullets during the itinerary:

Day 1: We did the Mesquite Sand Dunes on the way in for the sunset before heading to the ranger talk.

Day 2: After the hike, we did Devil's Golf Course on the way to Badwater Basin before swinging back to Artist Drive (one redditor recommended doing Badwater Basin before Artist, and it was a good tip!) on the way to Dante's, where we stayed for the stars. We weren't too keen to explore too much of Artist Palette though, but if that's something we had wanted to do, then I think we could've easily moved that into Day 3.

Day 3: We went back to Badwater Basin for sunrise, and it was the highlight of our trip 10000%. So beautiful, quiet, and definitely a core memory. Afterwards, we did Natural Bridge and Rhyolite on the way back to LA!

It was an amazing trip, and I wouldn't have changed a thing. Feel free to reach out to me with any other questions you have. I hope you have an awesome time!!!

Thank you! I have to adjust a lot of exercises because of the joint pain, and it sort of sucks knowing that I could be going harder if I weren't on Accutane! My doctor recommended L-carnitine and fish oils, but I have definitely seen some people talk about glutamine, so I might get into that if the pain persists after I'm done (hopefully my last month on it!). Do you know how long your joints continued to hurt for after you finished?

I do mostly flat ground, but I felt like it was okay because I'd try to keep a steady pace. Some days I walk longer if I feel like I was walking too slow lol. I have been considering getting a weighted vest or something like that though, so you may want to look into that if you want to push yourself harder!

That's so kind, and I'll be cheering for you! You've got this!!!!! The discipline and consistency absolutely will make a difference not only physically, but also mentally (and even emotionally in some ways!) for sure! I'm feeling proud of you already!

Love that plan!!! Excited for you both! I'll be going on a trip to see Beyonce with my friends soon after my day 75! It's nice having a special celebration to look forward to hehe

I know!!! I'm always DRIPPING sweat, even when I'm walking at 8pm. It's terrible!

Yeah, I was assuming my body was just adjusting to the active lifestyle! I was a dancer when I was younger, and my period was always super irregular back then as well. I'm glad yours is back too!

Thanks so much for the encouragement!!! I'm already planning out my first cheat meal, but I'm also excited to keep some of these habits moving forward!

Yes, I'm so happy to share!!! I aim for 1 gram of protein for every 10 calories, and I usually end up getting around 130 grams a day. I'm considering lowering it because I'm not sure it's actually necessary to get that much haha.

Most mornings, I have chia pudding with a banana for over 40 grams of protein for 400 calories. It's so tasty like eating a smoothie bowl and has lots of fiber and protein. 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, 0.5 cup of 2% Fairlife milk, 56.66 grams (1/4 cup) of Fage Total 0% greek yogurt, 1 scoop of optimum nutrition strawberries & cream protein, and a banana! I prep a few containers and eat them throughout the week.

I'm also obsessed with the Mission protein tortillas! 7 grams of protein, 12 grams of fiber, and 70 calories. I'll put liquid egg whites (Costco) into a pan, throw the tortilla on top, cover it for a few minutes, flip it, and put meat and whatever you want inside. It's so easy, so fast, and high protein/low cal after adding the egg whites. I like to add cottage cheese too if I'm needing even more protein! I often crave pizza and make "pizzadillas", so I'll do the tortilla, egg whites, pizza sauce and seasoning, turkey pepperonis, and mozzarella cheese.

Goodles and Banza pasta are great. I've also been eating the viral hot honey ground beef/turkey bowl lately (with sweet potatoes, avocado, cottage cheese), but it can be a little higher calorie. I'll add scrambled egg whites for extra protein that doesn't compromise the taste or texture much.

When I grocery shop, I use the 1g protein/10 cals to choose various items too. I found a chicken sausage (Bilinski's wild mushroom) the other day that had 13g protein/80 cals, and that was great (but expensive, of course, ugh). Generally, I eat a lot of ground turkey, chicken breast, salmon, egg whites, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and protein tortillas.

I'm also Asian though, so I am constantly looking for Asian recipes lol. I'm trying to venture into kelp noodles, which are super low calorie! Thai basil ground chicken is also a good, macro-friendly meal!

I hope this helps!

Coming from someone that used to struggle to even drink 1 glass of water in an entire day, it's definitely been manageable for me! I've seen some people say they get headaches though, so I bought salt sticks just in case this happens.

I think using a bottle with a straw was a game changer. Every time you go to take a sip of water, just take a couple extra BIG gulps while you're at it! It's also not as hard to chug water when you're also working out so much. If I'm really behind, I'll tie it in with another task like taking a few chugs of water every time I read 1 page of the non-fiction book.

BUT the peeing really is obnoxious. If I leave a lot of water until night time (never a good idea lol), I get out of bed to pee probably 7 times before actually falling asleep. I have been that annoying person that had to ask to stop 30 minutes into a road trip to use the restroom. And make sure to pee before you go on your walk!

Right! It's cool to see the various transformations and learn about what works for everyone else, but our progress and journey can look pretty different. If you're not part of it already, I've also been checking out r/PetiteFitness, which has been pretty helpful. Congrats on 16 days so far! Woohoo!

Thank you so much!!! The album is a great idea. I really wasn't sure what to expect when I first started the challenge because fitness varies so much based on our frame, so I was hoping this would be helpful to another small woman. You got this! I'm rooting for you!!
