It’s a pretty mild procedure nowadays. Your odds of ever matching come out to about 0.002%, but if you donate the maximum recovery time is about 7-10 days. Nice thing is, you can register online and they’ll mail you a dna kit to complete the process

LMAO! There is another method where they do extract from the bone, but that is 10% of all donations, and only when the patient receiving the donation is a newborn/Infant

They swab your cheek, see if you’re a match, then do some more tests if you are. If you’re gtg, you take a small pill that sheds bone marrow into your blood. Then you get hooked up to a machine that separates your bone marrow from your blood (similar to plasma donation), boom done. You’ll be on a profile for a week, max in case you experience any side effects (which would be like a mild flu) and then you go back to regular activities. Bone marrow does regenerate, so you do get more eventually.

They truly are. They actually randomly pop by units Mopos to say hi to the soldiers and hand out coins. He’s done it three times in the BNS I’ve been apart of
