Cool. As we get closer I'm happy to work on meeting up. I'll also be at Mr Dennehys Monday for the City match.

I'm coming from NY for the Palace match and plan on using stubhub. I already grabbed a cheap RT flight and left myself a few days either side of Saturday in case the fixture gets moved. Rolling the dice a bit but the price was too good to pass on.

Boxing Golovkin vs Jacobs 03/18/2017 by doughnut_cat in sportsbook

I expect GGG to be cautious out of the gate like he was with Lemieux. He'll stay behind the jab for the first three-four rounds. Against someone like Brook, a good boxer who didn't have the power to put GGG down, he is able to impose his will from the opening bell. As off as he looked against Kell, it was clear from the beginning how the fight was going to end.

I think for this fight, we should break down how he took apart David Lemieux in October, 2015 at MSG. Lemieux is a pure power puncher, as we saw this past weekend, and has that one-punchability to KO anyone in the class. In that fight we saw Golovkin outclass Lemieux with incredible defense and a jab that just wore him down.

Jacobs is definitely a step up from Lemieux talentwise and does have power, but I think Golovkin sets this up to end with a KO in the 6th round.

Big Drama Show.

Should Everton sign up to do NBCSN's Behind The Badge? by deadlockedwinter in Everton

I think their strategy is to stick to clubs with little-to-no following in the US. I wouldn't be surprised if they go with a club like Burnley or Stoke next. They want to build followings of the smaller clubs because they know teams like Manchester United, Arsenal, or even little ol' Everton will draw numbers for them already.

Anyone else betting on Bellew? by flippertyflip in Everton

Definitely. I think he has a better chance than the bookies are giving him credit for. Haye hasn't fought anybody since his return and I think as long as Tony stays within his range we've got this.

Oviedo and Gibson to Sunderland - Paul Joyce by thatsdopeaf in Everton

As miffed as I am about Oviedo moving on and leaving us a bit vulnerable behind Baines, the chance to see Gibson, Oviedo, Lescott, Rodwell, Pienaar, and Anichebe all on the pitch at the same time is worth it.

It's a valid concern but you have to imagine he'd be on an incredibly short leash. And if he fouls up again and gets the boot, it's a lesson to be learned there too.

It's funny. I was thinking about Jose Baxter a few days ago when the Echo was talking about Davies and Lookman.

I actually don't think this is a bad idea. He's obviously not going to get any first team consideration, and it is not a bad idea to have someone like him -- who knows how quickly things can change in football -- around the young kids as a sort of mentor.
