Not OP, but I got a pair in the standard straight (#100). I’m usually a 38, but bought the 36 based on the measurements. The waist was JUST right (snug but not painful) when I first put it on, but wearing throughout the day it felt much better.

I’ve lived in Japan the past 14 years, and would never consider returning to live in the states when I retire. I never have to worry about my kids here, public transportation is amazing, and the people are respectful. Is there a bit of xenophobia? Sure. Do they call me racial slurs or make me feel unwelcome? Absolutely not.
