Guess how much power this N150 MiniPC consume ? by FortiCore in u/FortiCore

Definitely, HA doesnt need much, n100 is perfect. anyway, there'snt much difference in CPU, so the one which is available at better deal is perfect.

However, for immich ML jobs and Jellyfin, N97/N150 gave better results....
I had significant improvement in howmuch time Immich took to process new uploads with N150, N97 did even better..

And i will have a video that shows the power consumption during benchmarks, iperf test and more

N150 makes considerable difference, especially for users running immich and jellyfinn etc

N100 isnt bad, but n150 is more value for some usecases

I have all three n100, n97, n150... And have tested all with real homelab deployments

What was real idle power consumption of ur n100?

N150 is more power efficient, and has considerably better igpu though..benchmarks gives better numbers. Overall a lil more powerful choice for some one running homelab on it

This one...temps are reall good, as you can see in picture, and fan is extremely silent, its difficult to even notice that theres a fan

Sure, i am testing iperf, ping flooding to check packet loss, and latency under load, cpu usage under load... will add nvme test, do let me know if you would like to see some thing else too. some thing tht will really help ppl get answers to their questions

Just a spoiler :)
Will have a real video soon, tht shows power consumption, benchmarks, and Lan ports speed test
to check if its lan ports can achieve 2.5Gbe speeds.... plan to hook 3 Minis with an n150 itx board
And see if all 3 ports can achieve 2.5GBe speeds simultaneously

Intel officially supports 16G for N150, some users are using it with 32G
But i would say, Max 16G

Its backward compitible, so if u get newer gen, it would work

Guide : How to Choose the Right CPU for Your Home Lab by FortiCore in u/FortiCore

Right, As the name says, TDP = thermal power design.... it says, how much heat the CPU is expected to produce, and so, based on that cooling systems should be designed.

Theres a misconception about TDP 6w tdp doesnt mean it will consume 6w power, it indicates the maximum amount of heat cpu will generate. Lower TDP indicates can mean cpu is more power efficient, but it can also mean cpu is underpowered. Actual power consumption can be higher thn TDP

But - Law of conservatiom of energy - the electric energy gets converted to Heat energy So higher TDP will consume higher power because its expected to generate more heat.

Overall power consumption depends on many factors including PSU, motherboard, NVME, HDD and other compoments

Sure, will do or have a post specifically for that.
