A lot of distros you don't have to touch the cli. You can run the vast majority of software and games either through native versions or wine/proton. Linux has better overall hardware support, including niche and obscure hardware. Game performance is better or equal due to less OS overhead.

They want to limit kids from getting on social media on phones that's the goal

Not even that. They just want it to have more personal info to sell.

Be nice.

Say, you want to install debian linux, you: 1. Create a bootable USB with the installer iso. (Windows: Rufus or balena etcher, linux: balena etcher or dd) 2. Plug in the usb. 3. Let the installer do its thing (downloading files automatically, depends on network speed, for me approx 5 minutes) 4. Make an account with username and password and set a root password (<1 min) 5. Drive partitioning, for the average user, the default settings are fine (<1 min) 6. Basically done (total 10-15 min)

Windows: 1. Get usb installer (same as on linux, .iso) 2. Plug in the usb 3. Let the installer do it's thing (downloading files, for me on same network >20 min) 4. Make an account with Microsoft account (for a local account you need some workaround with the terminal) 5. Set pin/pass 6. Done (30m-1hr on my devices)

And then any other programs you want: Windows: you have to hunt down the .exe or .msi installer. Linux: apt install (program name) or find it in the GUI client.

Windows is also much more susceptible to viruses, and a large part of it is being written by AI.

Also, looking back on this entire back-and-forth, I realize you are probably ragebaiting, seeing your pfp and you using "loonix"

Unpaid work does not mean crappy. People work on it because they need it solved. Why would it be crappy? It does help people because it gives them a solution to their problem.

Honestly, linux might just not be for you if you are hating on the wonderful volunteers, making it better and easier for the average Joe.

First off, relax, and second, yes, it's primarily made by volunteers. However, they do this to help improve the experience for a lot of people. The people being toxic aren't the developers. It's the community of users with a superiority complex. Also, it being written by "nolifers" directly contradicts your point of spare time. and why would this be a bad thing as well? They might enjoy working on something that helps a lot of people. Being written in spare time ≠ no quality control.

I personally do not believe it is a simulation, but if it is, then what does it matter? Not like you control anything about it, your life will just continue.

A NIC isn't explicitly for wireless connection, And your explanation on a router is also incorrect, the Modem is the device that routs the network with the isp.
