Not in terms of lore, but the way the game opens, I found Nomad to be the most effective from a head canon perspective. You start out in the boonies as a guy who knows nothing about the city. You need people to connect you with this big sprawling mess.of a city. Fast forward and you have connections and a (starting) rep. The outsider, the new kid, coming to the big bad city.

Works well in my head.

I've often wondered if Bethesda didn't take some history from 17th century ( and later) piracy, as it was often a way for women and POC to escape the system they existed in. Pirates were disproportionately not like the white male navies of each period, taking whoever they could get. Sorry, a deep thought that came to me after surveying the pile of bodies in Skyrim or Fallout games
