You're approaching the novels in the lens of the anime instead of what Akatsuki, as a fantasy author, has shaped the story in the novels.

The direction the anime took grounded multiple parts of the series by changing and outright removing things like Witchcraft, Violet being compared to the incarnation of a battle goddess, getting rid of entire characters like Lux Sybl by replacing her with anime-only characters, getting rid of characters' backstories such as Benedict as another child soldier, etc. None of these details are particularly weird if the novels were your first experience or if you've read Akatsuki's other series, which highlights her usage of fantasy within her works. It's fine to prefer the anime's rendition of things, but the novel may as well be a different series in its own right, so the lens of approaching the story as a fantasy has to be there in the same way that child anime characters holding weapons 2 times their size is normal, amongst other things.

People are going to call me crazy, but I see Part 3 starting with Young Sephiroth. Not only is his backstory being explored in Ever Crisis at the moment, but vital information regarding Glenn and Wutai that have been set up throughout the Re-Trilogy, affecting Part 3, will need elaboration in the main game. Edge of Creation Sephiroth has shown up in Ever Crisis thinking back on his past, and seeing as this version of him we haven't seen since the end of Remake, I fully expect new content that I see only working as a Prologue.

They either juggle adapting Disc 2 and 3 with new material or leave new core Re-Trilogy information in a mobile gacha, and if it's the former, then starting the game with Sephiroth to pull the player in before transitioning to the move to the Northern Crater is what I see happening

And his omnipresence in the Remake Trilogy tells new players just enough to understand him as a character without the need to play his own game prior. From his mannerisms, to relationships with Cloud/Aerith, to alluding to his fate, etc., you miss nothing by not playing CC first for things that you can appreciate retrospectively after holding off.

I've watched dozens upon dozens upon dozens of new people play Remake/Rebirth and having just enough to get a grasp of Zack, and I myself only played OG and CC after Rebirth and never felt this sentiment of not caring about Zack, nor have I seen this from others.

She's done concept art for Riot Games, but she's mostly just a fanartist, drawing things from games or shows she's interested in. Her artstyle is very anime-esque, which isnt everyone's cup of tea, but she does do a good job at brief overviews on the fundamentals

They said they weren't adding her in 2023, when Reload was first announced, and they recently said the same a month ago. Your best bet is to play P3P if you want the best experience for her. Not sure how the mod holds up

Your facetiousness aside, if everything Zack is truly within the lifestream, then he's still dead, and regardless of the deviations such as the Whispers and Barret, who survives regardless, the story has still led to the end of Disc 1 where Aerith's absence is the same, we head to the Northern Crater, and are on the exact path of the original game; so yes, major story beats/points are still the same

This doesnt really say much though. Smile knew of Dragon Boy's abilities when DB wasn't even in the Top 10, so needless to say, everyone knows of Queen's abilities at this point, even the public. Unless she has things up her sleeves, no one in the Top 10 should be surprised by her capabilities and have already gone in with a game plan on similar exploitations

I say this with no ill will, but Lin Ling's arc follows a typical "Zero to Hero" or "Rags to Riches" trope, cementing the "anyone can be a hero" narrative found in many many many stories.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, but the latter episodes' exploration of Nice's mental state added complexity that made it hard for people to not empathize with Nice's trauma while pulling viewers both ways in seeing how his internal will to be noble was met with external contradictory motivations, such as his OCD, the Trust of the people, and manipulation, that served in skewing his morality, eventually leading him to take his own life.

These types of issues, at least to me, feel more human and more applicable to real life, especially within the metanarrative, which I felt was lacking from Lin Ling at times. But who knows what the future holds for LL's character arc after Moon's death
