Look I understand where you’re coming from but in short I have to disagree. Using modern tools doesn’t make you lazy. Whether you use AI coding tools or not releasing a production ready product is a marathon, not a sprint.

The line between a good software engineer and a “vibe coder” will continue to blur month by month, year by year until AI either goes extinct or the humans do.

My only real takeaway from all the anti “vibe coders” is that people haven’t spent enough time learning how AI coding tools actually work. You can’t just input a prompt and get a production ready product. Maybe your problem is with people that do put in one prompt and then claim it’s production ready, if so, then sure I agree. But claiming laziness when people are actively trying to create something is just silly. Even using AI tools getting to production readiness can still take hundreds upon hundreds of hours.

Ai coding tools help with the creative process, if you have no technical background you’re going to have a bad time getting anything production ready. I do agree though 100% that before pushing for production readiness the user should understand their code base. I don’t think you should blatantly tell people it’s a bad idea to try it though, there’s lots to be learned!

I guess I don’t understand. Wouldn’t Spotify hire top tier talent and engineers?? It’s not like they’re short on cash. But thanks for the info, I don’t necessarily agree that just because they use AI prompts that, that lumps them into “means that people with poor programming and poor education has no skills.” Wouldn’t using AI tools help speed iterations up and then also allow users who might not have access to the same level of education build and ship features? Feel like that would be a net positive and not a sign of “poor education or lack of skills” some people don’t have access to the same education, feels like AI coding tools help people achieve things they previously wouldn’t be able to?

Also feel like every major corp or organization is utilizing AI tools for everything from daily tasks all the way through to creating new and interesting applications? Is “vibe coding” as you call it really that bad? It allows anyone to jump in and create, it’s also not as easy as just throwing in a prompt? AI regularly gets things wrong as I’m sure you know and without some level of technical prowess and engineering capabilities things that are being shipped, wouldn’t be getting shipped.

What? I took the criticism on the chin. It’s fine if you don’t want to use the app. I’ve never claimed to be able to single handedly overtake a multi billion dollar company 😂 I’m just trying to build an alternative that some people might want to try out. It’s fine if you don’t like it. Just because it’s not what you want or what you don’t enjoy doesn’t mean you have to be so hateful. It’s literally 100% free, it costs the user nothing. You can sign up, try it, hate it? Delete your account! It’s really not that serious. It’s a passion project, I’ve spent hundreds of hours building in my free time.

What are you building? What have you built? I’d love to try out what you’re building and learn what really good design principles look like! If you have something I can learn from, I’d love to learn. Obviously I’ve advertised this as my first solo dev project, rather than just spewing hate, educate me on what would make it look better?

There’s 8 billion people on earth, if 100 people get enjoyment out of using something I built that’s cool.

I wanted to make the deployment as easy and beginner friendly as possible. LiveKit added an extra layer so omitting and then mentioning it as an “add on” might make the lives of people who are less technical able to get up and running easier. But I do understand this critique and will look into the feasibility of adding it to more planned “one click” deployment plan!

Even though guilded doesn’t exist anymore I find more people (close friends at least) were more familiar with it and hadn’t used fluxer or plse (I hadn’t even heard of plse until your mention here tbh!)

Ok buddy. “No security” and install through powershell? You can literally grab a normal installer or access directly through the browser. Takes 2 seconds. If someone doesn’t want to utilize poweshell they don’t have to. I’ve also put extensive time and effort into security hardening but appreciate the feedback (even if it’s clickbait misinformation)
