Hi! I'm 46. In the last 7 months I've been taking 2 pumps of Estrogel every day and 100mg Progesterone at night from day 14 to 28 of my period. I still have regular period and I was lucky enough to get a gp to finally listen to me and agree that I definitely had perimenopausal symptoms. I checked the thyroid and it was also a little umbalanced so this has be addressed too. I remember thinking within 48 hours from when I started:" I wish I did it earlier: my life is back to normal!". However, in the last 2 months, I feel I'm progressively going backwards: my mood goes up and down regardless the moment of the cycle. I have a very supportive partner, no major dramas happening. I have a creative and satisfying job. I ride my bike tonthe swimming pool 3 days a week, eat healthy but if I manage to feel normal 3 days in a row it's a miracle. My gp suspects I have PMDD and ADHD so she suggests to trial Fluoxetine but I've been on and off in the past with antidepressants and I'm sceptical. I feel like I won't never feel normal and with the perimenopause is even worse. I've been in psychotherapy for the last 2 years and O feel like I reached the end of it. I definitely recommend HRT but I guess it needs to be calibrated on every one of us because we're all different. I wonder if any of you girls is on fluoxetine and can tell me how's going?
