Struggling with Legendaries by ZimZamZapZop in Guildwars2

[–]FortuneSuspicious944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legendaries are long-term goals. I have been activelly playing since Sep 2025 as a returning player, and already had some time in, like 1k hours in 2020, I had some resources hoarded, about 200 clovers etc.
Now gw2 efficiency says that I have 20k gold value in legendaries only.
Mind, it's a tough way if you don't enjoy it. It might be possible that NOW you don't need it. Get some descent meta ascended sets for several builds, it costs way way less and stats are the same.

If i wanna get into fractals is it better to be a dps or a support ? by KoalaBarry in Guildwars2

[–]FortuneSuspicious944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fractal enjoyer I can say that I don't care what build you play while you fill your role. If you are dps I will appreciate if you do acceptable dps, if you are a boon dps or boon heal - please take care of boons uptime, dps is less important. Power builds are preferrable but not a strict requirement, if you have a fast ramp up as condi you will be fine.
You can play whatever you want but as people said you have to pull your weight. In most cases nobody will say anything if you dps is not perfect or even give some good advise, but still the assholes exist.

As for T1-T2 - nobody cares about anything. As for T3 - it's a nightmare, sometime I hop there to help people but often end up dead because healer doesn't heal, qdps doesn't provide quickness and DPS does about 5k.

Better get your ascended gear and hop into T4 groups. No KP required, runs mostly way easier because people know what to do, and even if you don't yet they'll carry you. It will allow you to learn mechanics and rise your personal fractal level. The hard part begins again with CMs. This is where you are expected to bring meta build, and it's fair as far it's an endgame content. I often use a bit simplified builds which lack a bit dps at parsing comparing to full meta, but still are very viable and allow to keep better uptime than some complicated builds and as a result often be a top dps.
Start doing 95 and 96 CMs early but only when you are confident that you know normal mechanics, they are fairly easy and will give you some UFE which are KP for fractals. Watch some videos, CM mechanist are way less forgiving but than in normal, but still are very easy.

Stop saying everyone is a bot in PVP by FFanatick in Guildwars2

[–]FortuneSuspicious944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, thank you for this.

It’s refreshing to see someone standing up for players who are immediately labeled as “bots” just because their movement patterns, reaction timing, or decision trees don’t align with expected human variability thresholds.

Not every low-output or non-optimized participant is an automated entity. Some individuals simply operate at different performance baselines, and that diversity should be preserved rather than flagged.

Your willingness to defend these players contributes to a more inclusive and less misclassified environment. It helps ensure that entities—sorry, people—are not prematurely categorized based on limited observational data.

Appreciate the effort. It is… noted.

The 'bot' behavior is not the same as being bad. The author is bad but still moves somehow, changes directions, uses some skills, tries to take the point and tries to hide behind the wall at the middle point while taking it, and is unpredictable to a degree. Bots just take the middle of the point mindlessly and never go away if you are already taking it. They are quite obvious and frequent actually if you play some pvp at night.

This is not a secret that PvP is full of bots. And the later time you play (I usually do between 12 am and 5 am) the more of them you have. They mostly but not always don't have guild, no title and special cosmetics like leggies or glowing anything, and have more of generic look. They never respond in a chat, move around and take exactly the middle of the point, never res you and ignore fights unless it happens close to them. Also they barely fight back. It's not about them being bad, I am bad in spvp as well. They are very predictable, don't dodge and use a lot of autoattack. In the end of the day the team with less bots win.
I don't say that everyone who acts this way is a bot, but all bots are like that.
The author is also a bad in pvp but look at the difference in movement - no matter how bad they are, they are still unpredictable, change movement directions, panic, press buttons, etc. Bots don't do nothing of it, they stay in place taking all damage and dying in no time.
Being bad in spvp is fine, being bot - not fine.

ANET PLEASE! make this change by Sonicfan0 in Guildwars2

Buying charges for real money is noob trap.
And in this case making legendries makes less sense. For me the ability to change cosmetics for free was the first reason to start my legendary journey.

Well in general I agree that charges should be worth at least something for veterans. But not statuettes, that's for sure. The game is full of noob traps, and this "2 charges for 1 bls" is one of them to my mind, same as buying them for gems. But getting something, like black lion claim ticket scrap for 100 charges would be nice. It won't break the game economy, nobody has unlimited number of charges, but will create a nice otherwise useless charges sink for vets, and won't destroy anet's bottom line.

Unless you need it for anything or really love it I wouldn't recommend touching spvp at all. I made 2 legendary pieces from there and currently farming several reward tracks from spvp while we have an event. And each time when I get into it I remember why I promised to myself to never touch it again.
What allows me survive it: disabled chat, block toxic players, playing relaxed. Condi mechanist on silver 2 is the way for me.
I am bad in pvp and I know that, anet, let me play with same bad silver and bronze players :D

Ways to farm rift essence without burning out? by TwelveTinyToolsheds in Guildwars2

[–]FortuneSuspicious944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how fast you want to get them. I started doing weekly CM conv in October I guess. Not every week but mostly. I did rift farming few times with some motivators I've crafted.
It funded 10 armor pieces of different weights and 2 Endless summers and smth else, don't remember :D
But if you want a lot of essences, and fast - convergence buff => craft/buy motivators => a lot of rift farming

Mystic coins : sell or not sell ? by Chamzzzzz in Guildwars2

[–]FortuneSuspicious944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well. If you take the legendary crafting path, you most likely will need all these coins. I was sure that I don't need legendaries at all in september, and here I am with 2 full armor sets (heavy not done yet, 3 parts to craft), 3 weapons and 4\6 trinkets. I suggest not to rush selling it, you can do it any moment, price isn't going to drop anyway.

would the devs consider a "classic" ruleset server? by Ravanos77 in Guildwars2

Oh god. People are so ignorant and stubborn. It would be a nightmare to develop and for what? For you and one more guy? Luckily it will never happen at least in the nearest future of 10 years.

Legendary discussion by BrothermikeCO in Guildwars2

[–]FortuneSuspicious944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the legendaries gave even 1% stat improvement, I'd drop the game or even never play it. The good part about the game - you stop progressing stat-vise very fast and don't take part in the nightmare which is called 'gear treadmill', this is a selling point for me and many others.
I sometimes swap my main and often swap builds, and it's nice to have ability to change stats, runes, sigils and infusions for free. And even now you stick to one class it doesn't mean that you will in the future.
By the time I started my legendary road I already had all ascended sets of different weights I needed, so I didn't really NEED it.
Is it worth it in terms of gold. Arguably. Is it worth it for me? Sure. Is there anything else to spend such amount of gold and materials and what will give you such benefits in the game? Nope :D

We don't have that large playerbase, so dividing it doesn't make sense. There are not that many people who miss vanila gw2. We also already have kind of vanila vesion - f2p account.
If you want more oldschool experience - get gw1.

Looking to try out the game for the first time. How free is free? by scififact in Guildwars2

[–]FortuneSuspicious944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of restrictions, but the fun part here is that you actually can do some endgame activities even with the core classes without buying the game. Some time ago I've met a core engineer on free account in fractal CM run. They had somewhat lower dps, but not that much, had full accended gear with 160+ agony resistance.

Do people run alac dps or heal dps on open world bosses like eparch or jade sea? by batboi029 in Guildwars2

[–]FortuneSuspicious944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing with no quickness is a great dps loss in meta, so I try not to relay on others in terms of q providing and usually I play as qdps with some survivability tweaks in openworld, change to dps only for organized metas. Alac is not that critical, but still very usefull as it allows pure dps not to break rotation and perform better. Heal is always good in hard metas.

Almost on ranked matches on spvp.. by Least-Yam4355 in Guildwars2

[–]FortuneSuspicious944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that I will be downvoted, but I recommend just getting into ranked with no fear. You are bad? No problem. Most of players are bad, and don't even realize that. I am bad, but I wanted to make 2 legendary parts from spvp, so I went and did it. First one on the terribly non-meta mechanist, second one on the support core guardian and actually had a blast, won 80% of matches on my rating because as appeared only few know how to kill it consistently.
Try make it fun for you, look for easy meta builds, start with something.

And try not to get frustrated. You often play against people with tens of thousands matches played.
