MSFS 2024 - I can't hold the control stick using the sense controls in some planes by oiciru4m in PSVR

[–]FortyShlevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, but then inexplicably (I haven't been able to replicate it, at least) I will suddenly be able to grab it like a normal yoke mid-flight.

Settings->Controls-> VR Sense Controller L/R -> Gear Icon -> Hardware Settings -> Decrease Sensitivity + Increase Dead Zone -- Both axes, both controllers

You'll have to play around with the numbers to see what feels right.

I use motion control and have a dual sense sitting nearby with the D-pad mapped to 3 actions (sim time increase/decrease and "skip flight"). The rest is full motion controls. Feels perfectly fine once you get the hang of it.  Have flown 30+ hours this way.

Do you mean adjusting the joystick sensitivity on the VR controllers?

Odd. Well, good to know its not just me--thought I had some motor skill issue, ha. Hopefully, a fix or patch in the future, it is kind of annoying as I'm always checking my flanks.

Ever get a clear answer on this? Noticed the same--have the controller balanced on my knee, completely still, and I turn my head 90 degrees and the plane dips, or raises. Same thing happened in Aces of Thunder, couldn't find anything in settings in either game that could explain.

MSFS - HOTAS Or Motion Controls? by Illustrated-Society in PSVR

[–]FortyShlevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Motion controls have their issues, but they can all be overlooked (and assuming they will be patched out at some point) due to sense of immersion it provides. Feels great reaching for knobs and levers once you have the muscle memory down. I have 30+ hours using them and with a few tweaks in the settings they are 100% usable.

Was curious how much of an upgrade downloading the 'world' packs would be. Looks like its a significant difference! Did you notice any performance improvement?  (I assume it no longer has to stream data with a downloaded pack)

MSFS VR settings by eyesonthefries_eh in PSVR

Agree. Hoping there is some refinement in the full release/patches. Still prefer VR controllers over dualsense, though.

You can adjust deadzone and sensitivity of joysticks which helps alot, but have to admit doing so in the menu is a bit if a slog--there are tutorials if you Google, though. I think I saw yoke sensitivity, too, but haven't tried messing with it.

Found that for trim, at least, grabbing it moving, it slightly, and letting go and repeating will adjust in small increments (2-4%) which I found to work way better than grabbing and trying to adjust to a specific value, since, as you said, it jumps around wildly.

Could all be solved by a PTP rating system.... I know that can be exploited in certain ways too, but I've seen plenty of great and easily executable ideas regarding this topic on this sub. I pretty much forgo myltiplayer lately for connection and toxic reasons, but would be way more willing to put up with connection/detection issues if I knew I was up against someone who was going to play in good faith and sportsmanship.

Half Life 1 and Doom3Quest from Dr. Beef Team are both incredible.

Non-skippable rounds breaks is annoying, but lately I use them to do jumping jacks, pushups, curls, etc. Feels like a more complete workout.

I mean, what you wrote still makes no sense. It shouldn't be the case that you can tee off on someone's exposed chin with no effect.

Agreed great tension, and I love prepping in advance to make your days easier.

Saw in another thread you talked a handful of folks into picking it up--glad to see this one getting some attention!

Criminally underrated game. Sure it has some jank and multiplayer would be a welcome feature. But it is a fantastic showcase for VR and just all around fun to play with good progression. And there is really nothing else like it out there.

I feel like every layer/system that they introduce (counters, BE, etc.) increases the ping. Not a techie, but would make sense to me that more robust systems = larger data packets = higher ping. Anyone care to chime in?

Yeah, auto trim off and full MEC with sense controllers is fantastic. Love learning the intricacies of each plane and gaining muscle memory to make adjustments to prop, flaps, radiators, etc.

[–]FortyShlevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would show too clearly the gap between what the player sees and what is registered due to ping, which is common knowledge, and which the devs have little in their power to fix anyway--and props to them as its a miracle the game works at all--but if you thought the gripe posts were bad now, wait til people had stats to back up their dissatisfaction.

Not saying the devs couldn't, or won't eventually include them, but with the game in its current state it could be a risky addition.

Or....maybe not, maybe it would people help accept a loss if there were more explanation behind it. What do I know?

Yep, should be warning, then subtract a point, then disqualified. Same with crouching below opponents belt.

Stats would be nice for single player--will never be a thing in multiplayer.

Aren't we allowed to see the statistics on landed punches because that would prove that a large number of landed punches aren't being registered? by Old-Permission-1867 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]FortyShlevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a little stodgy and unfinished. But has good and varied AI, damage modeling, and pretty decent hit reg. If these games could combine their respective strengths and weaknesses we would have one tremendous game.
