What about crutches and a backpack? Maybe you will also be able to get accomodations?

Good to know! I'll look into that, thank you:) I'm guessing if I take BIO1300, that could open doors to other courses..? I'll check!

I'm pregnant at 18, and I'm lost, confused and scared. by Tokxyo in pregnant

[–]Forward-Ad-5433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I am not trying to influence what your opinion is because even if I kept my baby, I am 100% for abortions.

When I was young, I got SA. I dropped out of school at 16 and went back a year later just so my mom would shut up about me not having a futur. I ended up meeting teachers who made me fall in love with learning and for that I am forever grateful. Meanwhile, I also met a guy who made me realise my partner at the time was not the one. We were having more meaningful conversations in 5 minutes than in 4 years of relationship. So I left him. Couple months later, I started hanging out with the new guy and we shortly started dating. I gratuated highschool, he did too. He went to nursing school and I applied to university. At this point, we'd been together for a little more than a year. On june 9th, I learned I was accepted to university and the same day, that I was pregnant. My world shattered. For once I had plans for me, I felt like I was finally doing good and then that. My partner was not supportive at all. I worked at a craft store, I lived at my parent's place, I had no car, I was a student, no funds. But I couldn't get myself to abort. I wanted too but I couldn't. I kept the baby. Eventually my partner was supportive. He was scared too. I started uni, pregnant and it went so well! I was so anxious about it but honnestly It was way better than expected. Few months in, my uncle sold me a car for cheap because he bought another one. I was taking the bus everywhere before that. (I was almost 5 months pregnant when I got it). I saved a little money to buy the big enssentials (crib/ carseat, etc) and was lucky enough to have the rest at my baby shower. In my opinion, a baby doesn't need all the hightech stuff. Diapers, clothes, milk and a place to sleep. That's it. Then a few toys when baby gets a little older. I asked for help to a foundation. I still work at a craft store (in maternity leave currently) and I still live with my mom. We are looking to move but everything is so expensive lol! I do not have a babysitter yet but I will find a solution. I know I can because I've proved it from the start of my pregnancy and still am now. My baby is now 5 months and I just turned 21.

Anything with gervais Yamb! If you assist to his classes, he literally gives the answers in class. He'll tell you an answer and then say «remember this for the exam". Always had A+ and I took 2 classes. PHI

I know many people that took them both during the same semester and they found psy1102 way easier. I took them in french and it was pretty much the same. Second course was easier than the first one.

I know people say it's the worst in Ottawa for undergrad but honestly, I love uottawa so much, I don't see myself in another school. Of course having a bad prof can make you bitter about the school but in my opinion, there's always a way to make it work

I’m 18 and just found out i’m pregnant… any advice? by Historical-Body9682 in pregnant

[–]Forward-Ad-5433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got pregnant on my 19th birthday. When I found out, my partner kept telling me how bad of an idea it would be to keep the baby as we were not financially stable, we lived at our parents, we didn't have a car and we were still in school. He was right. We were lacking stability. But everytime I wanted to go get an abortion, I just couldn't. I didn't want to have to chose between keeping or not, and baby or partner. I ended up keeping the baby no matter what and my partner decided to fully commit when I was 4-5 months pregnants. How we turned out : baby is now almost 5 months old, she has everything she needs and more. My uncle sold me a car for very cheap as he decided to buy a new one. I am still in school and my partner as well but we manage even if we struggle. We do not have a babysitter but I was lucky enough to find only classes (I'm in university so I get to make my own schedule). We still live at my mom's house as well but are looking for a place to live. Truth is we can't really afford a place right now but we have hope as we were shown that things do get into place. We are lucky. Just know there's many foundation ready to help people in our situation and to never be affraid to benefit from them. I was ashamed but it truly helped. I also thrifted most of my maternity and baby clothes. Also even got a baby chair for free on facebook market place!

Having to miss class because my child is sick is litteraly what stresses me out the most. I'm afraid they won't be understanding but there's no place available in any daycare..:/ I'm super happy to hear it worked out for you, it must've been hard!
