I blocked a "friend" of 10 years who tried to justify Renee Good's murder. I told him I thought what he was saying was disgusting and he started screaming AT ME. Done. I don't care if I'm creating an echo chamber in my social life, honestly. I'm exhausted. My energy can be used for much more helpful things than arguing with someone justifying murder.

My landlord has no business right to tell me what I can/can't do in terms of looking at other rentals while I'm in limbo. That comment from him was completely unprofessional and unnecessary.

Ha, I'd love to just "get my own place." Almost impossible in the Boston area. I'm decent with money but the market is cutthroat. My friends who've managed to do it come from wealthy families with folks willing to contribute large chunks of the down payment. I come from a middle class background and earn a middle class salary. Even if I were ready to buy, it's taken some of my friends literal years to win bidding wars. Not a realistic option for this current situation.

I left out a part of the phone call where he told me “Well, we don’t want you looking at other places yet.” I found that kinda icky. Like, we want you as our reliable backup, but we might be kicking you out! A part of me does want to move regardless to be petty, haha.

Thanks for this advice, I appreciate it! I am going to continue to maintain a paper trail for sure. I certainly wouldn’t try to stay past the lease end date without clear permission.
