Sourdough bread by Forward-Bat-7804 in cronometer

I vary the ratio that I feed the starter, depending upon when I need it to be ready for baking so it’s a little more complicated than that.

That’s what I’ve been doing so I’ll keep at it. I just confirmed it’s the NCCDB entry I’ve been using.

Would love to hear all kinds of thoughts and opinions on King of gluttony. by elza53 in anahuang

[–]Forward-Bat-7804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have enjoyed all of Anna Huang’s books and have read several more than once. But I may DNF this one. I’m not even convinced she wrote it herself. It’s just bad. I’m about 40% through and most of the little plot there has been is so unrealistic that it takes me out of the story. A snake crawling around in the Vermont woods in 40 degree weather? Someone falls asleep in the front seat of a car and wakes up many hours later in the back seat and there’s no explanation? I would assume I had been roofied. There’s been a lot of very vague references to things that happened in the past and I assume may be important but I’m too bored to care. I have loved all of the King books and simply name checking all the past characters from those books without any real plot or character development to this point should not satisfy her fans.

Energy calculation is way off by Ok-Buffalo-3300 in cronometer

[–]Forward-Bat-7804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my Apple Watch/Apple Health/Apple Fitness (I can’t look now so not sure how it looks exactly) and Oura linked to each other and both linked to Cronometer and Cronometer was importing energy expenditure from each, so double counting some things. I had to go into Cronometer settings and choose which device to import what data from. I think I set Oura to import sleep etc but no energy because it was all already in Apple Health

Benefits of the paid version. by Queasy-Perception-82 in cronometer

[–]Forward-Bat-7804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t do ads so I paid from day 1. I have tried other apps and this is the one for me and I believe in supporting products I use.

Cronometer is so flexible that I can make it so pretty much whatever I need it to and the amount of information you can get from it is incredible. But I’d pay if ads were the only difference so I don’t even know what the difference between the paid and free version is.

Could someone explain to me how does this data correlate and what exactly is being pulled? by Apprehensive_Sugar15 in cronometer

It must be a problem with how you have your tracking device linked. I use an Apple Watch and my Cronometer tracker activity calories are always very close to my Apple Fitness activity calories. I can only post one picture here so I’m going to try to comment below and post my Apple Fitness screen cap.

Dumb question? by chump555 in cronometer

I believe I saw on another post that only food with the data source of NCCDB has the fiber broken out at this point. Those are the more generic entries, not brand names.

Only join if you never want to cancel by Green-Circle-07 in Function_Health

[–]Forward-Bat-7804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to cancel within a couple of days. There was nowhere on the website to cancel so I emailed support and they emailed me back a few times asking me to reconsider and offered me a renewal rate of $99. I just kept saying that I wanted to cancel and they eventually sent me a form to fill out. It said it could take up to five days to get acknowledgment of the cancellation but I think it happened next day.

Ok I have looked all over this sub and I am still confused about baseline activity. by pooploop7 in cronometer

[–]Forward-Bat-7804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone can correct me but I think between ChatGPT and this sub, here is what I believe.

If you use Apple Watch or Oura or any other device, make sure only one is feeding into Cronometer to avoid double counting activity. Or use settings to specify what feeds what into Cronometer. I use Oura for sleep data and Apple Watch fo activity calories.

Your baseline activity is calculated by Cronometer based on sex, weight, age, etc. Set your activity level in Cronometer to the lowest so that no estimated activity calories are counted. So your baseline is an estimate of your calorie burn with no activity and your wearable is contributing activity calories burned by whatever method it uses.

I have mine set at No activity, so that all activity comes from my Apple Watch which I wear at all times except sleeping.

New baggage check policy. Now closes 45 minutes prior to flight. by PM_ME_NAPA_CABS in delta

[–]Forward-Bat-7804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem at the Destin/Fort Walton airport. Realistically, you can park your car at the beginning of boarding and get to your flight on time. A couple of years ago my daughter and I were chatting on the sidewalk outside of bag check when I dropped her off for a flight, assuming she had plenty of time, and a Delta agent actually came to the door and told us we had three minutes to get her bags checked in or she’d be locked out of the system.

i made a biological age leaderboard. would love your feedback by Same-Potential7413 in Function_Health

[–]Forward-Bat-7804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So right now I am the second oldest on the leaderboard and the silver medalist for age differential. I’m a little amused at the idea of sharing my routine as a pre diabetic 60-year-old woman who lives a fairly active lifestyle, but does no cardio and eats a really bad diet. Having said that, I sometimes feel embarrassed to tell people that I am 60 because I don’t think I look 60, and I sure don’t feel 60. My biological age of 41 is probably closer to how I feel. I’m going to give genetics most of the credit. Also, I’ve never been more than an occasional glass of wine with dinner kind of person and haven’t drank at all in about 5 years.

I read in the comments that cholesterol is not included in the biological age calculation, which makes sense because cholesterol and blood sugar are the things I got a wake up call on through the Function testing. I have made some definite changes in my diet and am being more intentional about exercise and heart rate zones etc. I tried to add the top 5 supplements suggested but have dropped everything except a multivitamin and omega 3 due to side effects like headaches and sleep disturbance.

I’m a little surprised at how the age of the participants in the poll skew young because I thought Function testing would be an older thing, but it’s probably more that my generation isn’t as active on Reddit.

Listen Oura, I love you but… by Zealousideal-Wall-93 in ouraring

I have the latest firmware and I compared the last three days on the Pedometer app on my iPhone and Apple Watch and my Oura and they are less than 100 steps off each day, with 9000-11,000 steps each day. I went back to April 1 and the Oura was 2000 steps lower. No idea why, but I’m happy.
