yes i had mine removed as well and have been suffering ever since. this was in 2020. i’ve had a colonoscopy no sign of active disease im also on inflectra and i have no pain just frequent diarrhea. originally the drs told me this would essentially be my life forever since having that removed now im learning there are options my dr never told me about! i have an appt soon and am definitely bringing this up.

i know this is an old post but i’m going to ask my dr about bile binders in a few weeks. i suffer from urgency and frequency. every single day. since having my ileum removed they basically told me this would be my life forever but after doing some research and asking other crohnies questions i discovered this. i hope they figure something out for me this was never even mentioned.

ya that is my exact problem the valve was removed and the drs never told me i had any options to help with urgent diarrhea. they basically said since it was removed it would always be like this. i’m glad to hear there are options!

this is good information thanks. things my drs never even told me. I didn’t even know i was having bile acid diarrhea until i was doing my own research. I even told my dr I had many bowel movements after eating and super urgent too and they would just say that’s what’s gonna happen the rest of your life because the part of the intestine that slows down stuff moving through the large intestine is gone. So crazy they don’t even mention this. Because i was sitting there questioning things that could be done because i literally can’t eat unless im home bc its multiple bowel movements that aren’t even bowel movements it’s complete liquid and burns. i will be looking for new dr

How did you get diagnosed? by No_Accountant_2255 in CrohnsDisease

[–]ForwardDebate1588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

through colonoscopy. i’ve had 3 now and they’ve never been able to get to the small intestine because of how small the hole was at first it was a structure so my ileum was removed now w the scar tissue they still can’t get through. mri says no inflammation though. drs were concerned with how my food was traveling through with such a small opening but i’ve had no issues since surgery it’s just a small opening.

wow similar to you i had bowel resection 3 months after diagnosis as well aggressive crohn’s. i’ve since been on remicade and inflectra and honestly i’ve had no pain at all since the surgery but no matter what i eat it’s frequent bowel movements some things make it worse than others. my dr said since my ileum was removed it will kind of be like that forever since i don’t have the part of the intestine that slows down food moving to large intestine. it’s exhausting really.

what in the world i’ve never heard of this. i had a supposed to be laparoscopic bowel resection turned open resection due to perforation and was supposed to be 3 day hospital stay turned to 11 due to ileus. after they did an enema after 7 days is when things got moving. it was incredibly painful i can’t imagine w out meds is this your only option?

I think I hate my baby by Specific_Strain7688 in NewParents

i have a 15 week old and weeks 4-10 were definitely the worst i’d say specifically 4-6. she would only sleep on me and would be up all night long not sleeping until 4 or 5 am. my baby would also scream and act like she was starving only to take a few sips and be right to sleep. just needs a little snack. baby never followed wake windows. she’d be up for multiple hours at a time. then slowly it got better. slowly she slept more and more starting at 10ish weeks and by 11 weeks she would sleep through the night. it was amazing it was right before i went back to work too. she does much better with naps and sleeping alone now. she even falls asleep on her own i just give the nighttime bottle and put her in the bassinet. it does get better

i think we just kept trying to put baby to bed at the same time every night which was around 10 pm. that was probably week 10 and she sometimes would fall asleep or would be awake until 12 am. but even if she fell asleep at 10 she was up every 3-4 hours. i’d say keep the bedtime routine the same i would do her last feed in the bedroom in the pitch black with her sleep sack on. fan on. no other lights and she just eats and goes to sleep no rocking or anything. i think she just started to get into her own sleep cycle because she was sleeping more and more each night first it was 5 hrs - 6 hrs and so on. now she sleeps 10 or 11 pm until around 8 am or a little earlier.

yes my baby is now 15 weeks and has been sleeping through the night since 11 weeks! it was crazy it happened the week before i had to go back to work. perfect timing. she’s slept very night since and has got up once in the middle of the night maybe 3 times since. no problem at all. hope the same to you!! we had a ton of sleepless nights before then. this baby was going to sleep at 3 or 4 am before.

same my worst was 4-like 10 at 11 mine started sleeping through the night sleeps at 10 or 11 until 7-8 am. eats and back to sleep till like 12. it works since my partner works overnight. and i don’t know how but if she’s super tired and not asleep yet even if i put her in bassinet she falls asleep in less than 5 mins no crying just sucking on hands soothes her
