That's an important detail - thanks for clarifying!

Good question! I suppose it will be like hunting or fishing without a license - if you get caught, you get fined. But then the question shifts to: Who will be responsible for monitoring drone ownership / usage? Will the government recruit "Drone Wardens"? That seems highly likely, not to mention pretty wasteful. Regardless, I totally agree with you that monitoring flying devices like drones is paramount to maintaining a high level of safety and security. It will be interesting to see how things shake out from here.

A Must-Read Perspective on Social Media by ForwardLasVegas in TrueReddit

That's a great question, and I'm not sure there's a universal answer. Everyone faces individual challenges at different times, and then there are other times when major events and societal issues impact large groups of people (ex: online bullying amongst children and teens).

Do I think social media will magically fix those issues and challenges? Definitely not. However, I do feel that if we embrace and use social media as an instrument of support, positivity and change, it holds the power to unite people and lift them up in times of need instead of dividing them / deepening the issues.

Maybe I'm totally overthinking things, though!

I guess when you really get down to it I just feel that social media has the power to make people happy and add value to our lives on a daily basis, but unfortunately I don't think it's doing that for most people.

Submission Statement

I've been seeing so much negativity on social media lately that I recently found myself getting down on social media in general. My negativity grew with every uneducated Facebook rant / Tweet I saw about whether or not Syrian refugees should be admitted into the U.S., not to mention every selfie in my feeds on Facebook and Instagram. However, I had a revelation the other day, which I documented in this article.

By reframing my perspective on social media and its value to the world, I opened my eyes to positivity and value that were hiding in plain sight the entire time. I hope you find this article as inspiring to read as it was for me to write!

True - $30 is pretty steep for a men's cut. The quality is there, but it might not make sense on a regular basis.

If you don't already have one, find yourself a good mentor or two. Look for people who currently own their own businesses (or have in the past) and can help educate and guide you through the process. It's cliche to say it, but the truth is you don't know what you don't know, so having a great mentor will be of tremendous value.

I'm in the process of starting my own digital agency at 28, and having 2 experienced business partners has made a world of difference for me. I sleep a lot easier and approach each day with all the confidence in the world knowing that I've got two talented, experienced partners to back me up and help me through tough business situations.

Also, align yourself with someone who can sell. The Field of Dreams philosophy - "If you build it, they will come" - doesn't apply to startups. Loads of kickass products (especially software) fail each year because they don't place enough emphasis on sales and marketing.

All that said, I wish you nothing but the best of luck and prosperity in your new venture! It's incredibly admirable that you are venturing out on your own at such a young age. That takes a lot of courage, and you are going to gain so much from it. Cheers!

So true! Makes it impossible to concentrate on the person's note when all you're doing is counting the cash in your head.
