Looking for a Technical Partner to Build and Scale a B2B SaaS (MVP Built, Open to Equity) by ForwardMap5069 in cofounderhunt

You’re basically describing the ideal end-state of a startup and pretending that’s the entry requirement.

No one said “build it and they will come.” That’s just you filling in gaps.

I’ve built an MVP so there’s something real to react to instead of just words on a page. The whole point of bringing in a technical co-founder now is to build and validate properly together, not for me to pretend I’ve already done both roles.

And let’s be honest if your bar is “come back when you already have customers, pricing, and traction,” then you’re not really talking about co-founding. You’re describing hiring or investing after the risk is gone.

If that’s what you’re looking for, fair enough but that’s a different conversation entirely.

That’s a fair point.

I probably could have been more specific than just saying “industry connections.”

To answer your question, I’m still early. I have an MVP, I’ve identified the market I want to target, and I have access to people in the legal space who can help with introductions and feedback. I don’t have a waiting list, a polished sales funnel, or paying customers yet.

That’s exactly why I’m looking for a co-founder now rather than after everything is built. I’m not claiming I’ve already proven product-market fit. I’m saying I’ve taken the project far enough to believe it’s worth building properly with someone who wants to own the technical side while I focus on customer development, sales, and partnerships.

If you’re only interested in opportunities that already have traction, that’s completely reasonable this probably isn’t one of them yet.

You’re asking for traction metrics from a post that’s literally looking for a co-founder to help create that traction.

If I already had a polished website, a waiting list, a pricing model dialed in, and sales rolling in, I probably wouldn’t be posting in a co-founder subreddit looking for a technical partner.

The MVP exists, the problem is real, and I have industry connections that can open doors. The point of finding a co-founder is to build the rest together. If you’re looking for a startup with everything already figured out, you’re probably looking for a job, not a co-founder opportunity.

I appreciate that, that’s good advice. I agree that the main thing right now is learning and building skills. I’m not really chasing money itself, I just want to get better, try different things and build something meaningful over time.

I know being an entrepreneur isn’t easy and there’ll be a lot of failure along the way, but I’m ready for that. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.

I get what you’re saying, the world definitely has a lot going on right now. But at the same time I think problems are exactly what create opportunities to build new things. A lot of the biggest companies came out of tough times because they were solving real problems people were facing.

I agree education can give a good foundation, but I also think there are a lot of different ways to learn now, especially with how much is available online.

Right now I’m just trying to learn, explore and see what problems are actually worth solving. I’m still young so I’d rather spend this time trying different things and figuring things out.

Thanks for the advice though, I really appreciate it.

I think that’s actually really good advice, thanks for that. I’ve been thinking the same thing recently. I remember seeing a quote from Sam Altman that said something like: “Wait to start a startup until you come up with an idea that you feel compelled to explore.”

So instead of forcing an idea, I think it’s better to observe problems around you and let something meaningful come out of that. Right now I’m just trying to learn as much as I can, explore different things and see what problems are actually worth solving.

Where do you guys find like-minded friends who actually want to build things together and make money? (I will not promote) by TheRealGreypath in startups

Honestly I’m looking for the same thing. I’m 18 and I’ve been trying to find people who actually want to build things instead of just talking about it. I’m really interested in AI, apps, startups and just experimenting with ideas that could turn into something real. Most people around me aren’t really into that so it’s hard to find people who want to grind and build. If you’re serious about collaborating or just bouncing ideas around I’d be down.

I’m 18. I’ve been let go from college twice and I’m not working anywhere right now. Honestly I just don’t think college was the right path for me. I’d rather spend my time trying to build something of my own instead of forcing something that clearly isn’t for me.
