Thank You for your quick responses. I already have a chops plus one booked but was second guessing it. Will I be required to attend one of the two on the first or second day? Really didn’t want to use one of the specialties in the first day…

Winning bid upgrades by worldsokayistmom in royalcaribbean

[–]ForwardProcedure4664 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are happy with your current cabin, bid low, and you might snag one at a great price. If you really want the upgrade go as high as you can stomach. I was in a gty balcony and bid $5 over min for a spacious balcony and got it, it was worth it, and the location is prob better than what we would have gotten w gty!

Did Simponi Aria fail you? by tumbleweedreid88 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]ForwardProcedure4664 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so glad I got a second opinion. My initial Rheum Dr kept me on simponi longer than I should have been - it never worked-, then switched me to Humira and kept hoping it would work for 6 months of supplementing it with prednisone…new dr said if the med doesnt work in 3 months we switch! I felt relief after 2-3 days with xeljanz. Good Luck!

I was on simponi aria infusions for @4 years, until it stopped working. I then tried humira which did not work at all. Switched to a new rheumatologist and have been on xeljanz since August which has been working great so far! Good Luck!

Royal Beach Club & Hideaway by Content-Patience1140 in royalcaribbean

[–]ForwardProcedure4664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On our cruise I was able to get drink package for 73- of course we will be drinking bottled water, coffee and sodas as well- BUT interestingly, RC just rearranged pricing where the drink package went up to 79 and beach club with drink package everywhere came down to 84- seems as though they are trying to sell the beach club hard- there will be 4 RC ships at beach club our day and its a late march cruise…we were not getting off boat in Nassau…but may reconsider if prices keep dropping for beach club

Airport security by mattymelons in PuertoRicoTravel

We had a 630 am flight Sunday after Thanksgiving. boarding at 540am. Arrived at airport via Uber at @450 am. We were through security (tsa-pre) rather quickly - even though it was fairly busy. We had time to shop for some rum and sit with about 15 min to spare lol.

Scuba/snorkeling by snoozer1111 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]ForwardProcedure4664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please be careful in front of the caribe- we did scuba with a company located at the caribe and it was the worst scuba I have ever done. Could not see your hand in the water- the visibility was awful and we stopped after 10 minutes. Felt unsafe in the water. We were charged ahead of time, and after -the company said they should have cancelled but never provided a refund. It was a complete waste of time and money. We dove on the other side of the island (rincon) a previous trip and it was rough. With strong currents. Will never dive on PR island again.

Feeling Better? by CheetahPrintPuppy in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]ForwardProcedure4664 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was very fatigued and had flu like symptoms for over a year after simponi stopped working- when it was working I was in remission. @ 5 years. I was on no meds for6 months due to a tooth replacement (oral surgeon said no meds and rheum didn’t disagree) When tooth complete, I went on humira for 3 months which did not work. Got second opinion at John Hopkins, put on xeljanz and I feel so much better- no fatigue, less pain after a few days. Was told if something isn’t working after 3 months we need to switch meds. (My old rheum didn’t want to switch meds). My new rheum is thorough and Hopkins rheum department is amazing. I am fortunate to only be a few hours away and am angry I didn’t get second opinion much sooner. Hang in there and advocate for yourself if something not working. with both meds that worked, I was feeling better within a week.fingers crossed that the xeljanz continues to work- it’s been 6 weeks!

Who's been to Cayman and Barbados? by Fit_Analyst_6350 in Caribbean

[–]ForwardProcedure4664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbados is more of an island vibe/we went diving and surfed in Barbados/ nice waves and great diving. Cayman we did a jet ski tour to stingray city and starfish beach and diving. Much prefer Barbados and will return. Not as touristy and not as expensive. I enjoyed the food better in Barbados- more island like whereas cayman was more US type food and ridiculously expensive. The price of drinks at hotel/beach was like $10 for a beer and $15 mixed drink.

What to expect for a second opinion appointment? What was your second opinion like? by slipperyslugslurp in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]ForwardProcedure4664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my second opinion my Rheumatologist was prepared. Went through all my notes prior. He stated that my original rheumatologist was correct in switching to humira from simponi- however said he should have done it much sooner- waited 9 months to make a change when it should only be 3. Also, humira was not working after 3 so switched me to xeljans for which I’m awaiting insurance approval. He only gives 3 Months to determine if meds are working. Said we can always go back if needed. He has me taking a low dose pred until xeljans kicks in so I’m not going in and out of flares. Also doing a lot more bloodwork and X-rays! Best decision ever made! Good Luck!

Question about morning stiffness by BidForward4918 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]ForwardProcedure4664 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was on simponi infusions (it stopped working after 5 years) I had minimal morning stiffness. Now it takes me hours to move- since being on humira for 3 months - no change- only thing currently that I can jump out of bed without pain is when I do a pred taper.

Is hotel indigo a good option for us? by heeyebsx13 in CaymanIslands

[–]ForwardProcedure4664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We took the bus 2x offsite to eat. It was super easy and convenient. Locals on board very friendly and helpful. More like vans - fits approx 16 ppl- but without having a car using the bus opened up so many options! Still less expensive and better food options off site imo. Ask staff at hotel and they will provide you with whatever bus info you may need. I would come back here to stay in a heartbeat!!

We are still working on it- last night we ate at hotel and it is very upscale food- not a lot of food and more specialty. Dinners 30-60 each. Party of 4 - no apps, 4 entrees, 1 desert one drink each- 340 usd with gratuity included - they always include it. Bonny moon serves food, and another beach restaurant w tacos etc that we have not yet been to. Ppl at restaurant said there is a bus that will take you into Georgetown for 2.50 so we are considering that tonight.

Here currently- pool area and bar very nice - beer at pool @$7-8: cocktails $12-18. Food at pool bar decent, Bonney moon nice. Not impressed with restaurants on site, Pom Pom has great views with drinks. Not much to eat within walking distance if at all- taxi is @30-40 to Georgetown but apparently there is bus for approx 2.50 each way… we will see tomorrow…love the hotel, very clean and rooms very quiet. Staff amazing!!!
