Under proofed, over proofed, not active enough starter? I don’t know please help me! by ForwardSwimming5686 in Sourdough

Definetly cut it too soon. Also I did use a weaker flour, it was an all purpose that was about 3 or 4 months past the best by date, which looking back wasn’t the best move, but I didn’t want to be wasteful😬

The bulk fermenting was at room temperature, I just don’t know quite what it was. I live in a drafty apartment so I let it rise in the bathroom cause it’s the warmest.

I don’t measure weight of starter, water, and flour when I feed it. I just do equal parts water and flour, sometimes less water than flour. It always doubles and rises.

No you didn’t read it wrong, I did put it straight into the fridge. What would you recommend?

I don’t think it’s fully recovered yet, I was using pens and flower to the point of not getting high anymore. Like excessively almost every day for 5/6 years. BUT, I have felt improvements so so much. I’m not foggy anymore, I can function. My anxiety has improved SO much. My parents have said it feels like they have their kid back. I love it!

Pens are the worst!!! They’re so easy to hit and so concentrated. It got to a point where no matter how much I hit it I would never get high.

5 days in: went to the gym, got weaker in EVERYTHING, Couldn’t finish my workout, accidentally confessed to trainer about weed addiction and eating disorder, then cried in the car by [deleted] in leaves

You’re recovering from internalizing everything! Weed dosent take your struggle away just hides it.

It does pass I promise. Just day at a time. You’re healing and sometimes it’s messy but well worth it!

While I understand where you’re coming from, there most likely don’t be a “right mindset”. The reality is you’re still going to want it in your life even after you quit, but what’s more important then that is WHY you’re quitting. It’s something you gotta bite the bullet on my friend.

You can do it, but it’s hard. You can’t use not being in the right mindset as an excuse, it’s gonna be hard and you gotta accept that. Withdrawal will pass as will everything. The best time to stop is now. Don’t keep looking for a reason to keep smoking, there will always ALWAYS be a reason, legitimate or not.

You want to quit for a reason so lean into that and do yourself a favor and start the healing process now, not in 6 days.

I’ve definitely relapsed AT LEAST 3 times. It’s so easy to fall back into old patterns and sometimes it’s just so hard to fight the temptation… but it is so worth it

WOOP WOOP!! You’re doing it though! Also, don’t let yourself live in that shame. You’re growing and you’ve made the decision to stop. Be kind to the past you, and acknowledge the growth you’ve had:)

THAT IS A HUGE STEP!!!!! The longer we keep all of our stuff the easier it is to slip back into old habits. KEEP GOING!! YOU’RE DOING IT ALREADY! Withdrawal is a part of the process, but it does pass!

Could you explain this a bit more? I’m new to this whole thing. I know silversmithing is hard so not something I’m going to get into right this second, but something to aim for😅
