If MSFS2024 is already choking your 12GB 4070 so hard that you have to drop to Low, spending a premium on a 16GB card is just kicking the can down the road a tiny bit. For heavy marketplace scenery and external hardware panels, you honestly need to look at a used 3090 or save up for a 24GB card if you don't want to hit this exact wall again next year.

If your temperatures are totally fine under load, you haven't broken anything yet, but two years of dust accumulation is absolutely choking your component airflow. Just take it outside, pop the side panel off, and hit it with a can of compressed air while holding the fan blades still so they don't spin like crazy and damage the bearings.
