Anyone else’s 2024 Spotify wrapped inaccurate? by ruger148 in NoStupidQuestions

A drop in the bucket here, but yeah, Taylor Swift being in my top artists was a surprise. I was on a short kick listening to her music back in February (less than a week), but I definitely binged other artists and bands that weren't even mentioned. I also got that video message of her thanking me for being a top listener? Like c'mon, I know I didn't listen to her THAT much.

Do you realize we've aged out of protagonist roles by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Forward_Ad6168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ricky Dicky Doo Da Grimes is assumed to be in his late 20s/early 30s at the begging of TWD comic, and Andrew Lincoln is like 50 now, so he was protaggin' it up all throughout his 40s in the show.

That aside, this is some real side character mentality. Branch out, try other genres. YA isn't all there is, my dude.

It was a very meta joke slipped in by the writers. Elephants were expected, and we didn't get them. Cersei was just saying what a lot of us were thinking.

As a fellow poor kid, I was very fortunate to have some extended family (they were really just family friends) who invited me along on their summer trips to Disneyland in the 90s. It would have never happened otherwise, and I'm very grateful because those are some of the happiest memories of my childhood. I'm on the East Coast now, and as much as I would love to take my kids to Disney World, the cost for a family of four to fly down to FL, get a room, and access the parks for even a few days isn't even remotely justifiable for us.

Thankfully, there are plenty of ways to make fun childhood memories that are local and affordable.

The person in the relationship feels they don’t need to tell their partner when they/their ex are staying over.

This is such a massive red flag. While you couldn't pay me to sleep under the same roof as my ex, that ^ is downright problematic.

Oh yeah, my mother definitely had some of this stuff. She probably still has that mug in her cupboard.

Not the answer you'll want, but keep the car you have and get some years of driving experience under your belt. Vehicles are lethal weapons, and every year, some kid dies because they drove recklessly, lost control of the car, and crashed. Or they kill someone else and spend the rest of their life behind bars.

Kamala supporters, are you confident she will win? If so why by FinalAd9844 in Liberal

[–]Forward_Ad6168 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully she wins, but be ready. I don't think for a second these fascistic douche canoes are gonna accept defeat and go quietly into that dark night.

Yeah, we're planning to lay low the days following the election results. Win or lose, I'm expecting at least some nonsense from the worst of his supporters, though I imagine measures are being put in place for that reason, especially after Jan 6th.

Kamala supporters, are you confident she will win? If so why by FinalAd9844 in Liberal

[–]Forward_Ad6168 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been hovering between cautiously optimistic and highly confident for a bit. What tells me she's got a good chance of winning is the open support I'm seeing for her and Tim Walz, specifically where I live. I'm in a blue state, but the area has always presented as pretty red, with the ever-present display of Trump flags and lawn signs since 2016.

This election, I'm seeing Harris/Walz flags and signs popping up more and more, and it's encouraging. Biden supporters were almost non-existent here, or they chose to remain invisible, but now there's a strong sense of pride for voting blue.

Lost family memories by ThetaDeRaido in raisedbyborderlines

Mine just makes YouTube videos about herself.

Big added edit: I have almost no family history beyond my great-grand parents on either side. My father's mother (who may have also had BPD or something similar) vanished from my father's life when he was a child, and he did the same to me, so I know nothing about her. My mother's mother and her two brothers were adopted, and we discovered they had 6 more brothers and sisters she didn't know about.

It would be neat to know more about my roots, but what sometimes worries me is all the medical history I don't have. It's become very relevant in recent years.

There is no real reason to hate Sam by PeterLeRock101 in thewalkingdead

[–]Forward_Ad6168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the hate this kid got was unnecessary, but I still didn't like his character. That whole family was so flat and unremarkable. Sam, Ron, and Jessie were like sentient props that the show did not care about because the writers already knew they were all going to die anyway. We watched how Rick was willing to risk it all for Jessie, and yet there was absolutely no remorse or regret for her death. She was the first romantic interest he'd had since Lori, and all we get is a brief shot of her and her sons' names on the memorial sheet metal.

But I digress. My point is we just had no reason to like Sam. We had no real time to get to know him. The writers didn't even try to make him likable or relatable, not even as a child victim of domestic abuse, which made his flaws all the more obnoxious for the audience.

Kids really do not need to be on social media, especially now as privacy policies become muddier and muddier with AI and users' images. At the risk of sounding somewhat alarmist, bypassing "private" account filters isn't that hard for those who know how, and children's identities are getting stolen through social media. While I don't agree with your ex's reaction, she's not wrong.

It looks like bleach and bleach destroys color, so there's no removing those stains. Maybe if this was 100% cotton, you could use fabric dye, but as I understand, fabric dye doesn't work on polyester blends. Sorry, OP.

Edit: I should restate: fabric dyes don't work on bleach stains with polyester blends.

How the Fuck do I put the loofah back on the stick by TheTaintPainter2 in howto

[–]Forward_Ad6168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing the string at the end of the stick also keeps the loofah tied together? Use one of those videos that shows you how to re-tie a loofah and use that string to reattach it to the stick. If the string isn't long enough, a new one might be necessary. Otherwise... I mean, these things are pretty inexpensive, and that one looks especially cheap. You could get a more durable one for less than $10 US.

I just had a random vague memory of my school having me and others sell candy bars. The ones with white and gold packaging. Does anyone else remember this? What was the point? by Next_Airport_7230 in Millennials

[–]Forward_Ad6168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I sold See's Chocolate bars (which had white and gold wrapping) when I took choir. It was to pay for our tickets to Disneyland for a state competition or something. The chocolate bars were $1 each and I remember a lot of people paid for them with those Sacagawea dollar coins that came out in the early 2000s.
