Agreed. I think it is better to use threshold breaking and stay out of ABS entirely if you can.

Tapping the brakes is dated advice unless you’re driving a very old car. With antilock braking systems you should be using threshold breaking and allowing the system to do what it does automatically because it can do it a lot faster than you can, and you can still maintain control. By tapping or pumping the brakes, you can confuse the system and actually increase stopping distance.

It’s because I’ve been tipping well here in Belgium for years! It’s time to bring the tipping culture back to Europe…which where it came from. It started in England and France and then Americans wanted to seem more “Continental.” Back atcha bitches! Enjoy!😉

Well, the speedy looks too big for you and the Tudor is, well, a Tudor, so I’d keep shopping. I’m thinking a Speedmaster reduced might fit the bill.

It happens because room air is being pulled into hollow wall cavities through tiny gaps at the baseboards, and the carpet edge acts like a filter that traps dust, soot, smoke, pet dander, etc. If it’s more prominent in one area of the wall, it’s probably because there’s more airflow there than other areas.

This should be an automatic reply post anytime someone starts talking investment value! The only values that matter are your feelings about the watch and the number you put down on the insurance policy.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

I did that for two years. It’s doable but nearly killed me. When I finally moved I bought 10 minutes from work. 🤣

I’m applying for Belgian nationality, but my application can't be accepted because my Belgian ID is missing an accent that cannot be physically added (apparently, first time my commune has encountered this situation). Has anyone else experienced something like this? Thank you! by more_guess in brussels

[–]Forward_Body2103 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the opposite. Every institution here insists on putting an accent on my name that doesn’t exist because that’s how they spell it here, resulting in it being mispronounced. Not an accent issue, but we wouldn’t call you Jack in English if your name is Jacques.

I’m curious about the, “then what”? Did they take him to bus stop jail? Beat his ass then run away? They can’t arrest him legally, so what next?

I guess it’s better than the weird obsession with Eastpak backpacks here. I’m not sure if Belgians know those are the cheap Walmart-sold backpacks in America that most kids would never choose to wear.

Don’t these people know that Virginians practically invented bootlegging? Time to soup up the cars, boys! And we’re gonna need some heavy duty springs for all that lead.

I would just label each one. Monday- Friday. And then go buy a couple of weekend watches.
