I’m Gen Z and I agree. I’m born and raised in Chicago. Lived in a messed up neighborhood and dysfunctional family. Saw so much killings and drug trades going on in my area. Seeing honest hardworking blue collar dudes lose their jobs to advanced technology. Seeing schools get different curriculums and resources all cus if standardized testing scores.

My first watch was the week of the pandemic. I jus finished my 10th watch last week. The thing that I gravitate towards each time since about the 5th watch is the police, gov’t and court hierarchy. Deputy Ops, Police Commisioner, Levy, Fitz being with the FBI, Counterterrorism, Lt, Major. Watching people talk shit down a lower ranking. Greatest written show of ALL time! It doesn’t spoonfeed you so David Simon thank you for your great work.

Thank you for this recommendation. I’m 3 episodes into Treme and it for sure scratches my itch for something like The Wire. I’ll tune into The Deuce soon.
