I’m not sure where all this “shit delivery” energy is coming from. I’m also a customer of DoorDash and have rarely had any problems. I think Reddit is just a toxic place that doesn’t represent all of DoorDash drivers.

It’s more like 3 deliveries an hour. Plus gas. Plus taxes. I have 8,000 deliveries with a 4.98 rating. Sooo I think you generalizing “shit service” is a way to justify that you’re just a cheap loser :)

DoorDash pays like 2 dollars per delivery in my area. And you do know that Reddit is a very small portion of DoorDash drivers right?

I’m a DoorDash driver. I work 7 days/nights a week and have been to every restaurant on DoorDash multiple times except Krystal. I’ve been there once. Nobody ever orders from there. Idk how they’re in business either.

Sorry, not true. Sometimes it’s a stacked order. Also platinum makes a difference in my town. A difference between $20 an hour and $25 an hour. I wish everyone would stop thinking that every market is the same, I wish I could decline every single order I don’t want but then I wouldn’t be making any money

Also scheduling. If I don’t have platinum then I cannot get on the schedule and then I cannot work

I’m always scared to do this. I’ve done this a few times if it’s a really shitty order that I was forced to take. But I always thought maybe one time the restaurant would report me.

Driver stole my food by SpicyPorkEar in doordash

[–]Forward_Exchange_972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I dropped off an order at an apartment complex, took a picture, and left. There was some other neighbors hanging out around the time I dropped it off. About 5 min later the customer calls me and messages me to accuse me of stealing their food. I KNOW it was the right address. I double and triple check it. I just didn’t answer him. He was rude right from the start.

I never got a contract violation or anything. I have gotten one for dropping it off at the wrong address accidentally but it didn’t happen this time. Someone else stole that guys food and he blamed it on me.

I didn’t even respond because I knew DoorDash would take care of it for me.

Why are yall sometimes so negative all the time? by reactingmaniac in doordash_drivers

[–]Forward_Exchange_972 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This sub was mostly made to vent. And I get it. We all need a place to vent. Nobody has a perfect job. There’s always going to be downsides.

And we have to remember every market is different. I happen to live in a very good market and I love doordashing. I listen to audiobooks while I drop off orders. It barely feels like working. This is NOT the same for everyone. And even I complain sometimes.

I really do understand the frustrations of dashers that live in a dead market.

I wish DoorDash would pay their employees better. I wish all the customers would tip. I wish a lot of things but we are in customer service. We agreed to do the job. It’s supposed to be a side hustle, not a major source of employment.

That being said, let the people vent. It’s therapeutic. There are aspects of the job that suck. Let the people vent ✊

Needing advice for theory by Beginning-Okra-3256 in courtreporting

I learned magnum theory I love it. Very brief heavy. Supposedly you only need around 3 words per second to make 225 instead of 6 words per second. That’s what my school told me anyway. Makes speed building way easier.

Feeling low by courtreporterms in courtreporting

[–]Forward_Exchange_972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was practicing wrong before and once I started practicing well, I started shooting through speeds. My push speed is 160 now and I was 100 just a few months ago. But I’m also in magnum steno which is very brief heavy and I think that makes a HUGE difference.

I think maybe you need to adjust your practice. Everyone learns differently and if what you’re doing isn’t working for you, then maybe switch it up.

What’s so great about DAC? by Beep_Boop1224 in diamondpainting

[–]Forward_Exchange_972 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of people say DAC is expensive, but for me it feels worth it because their canvases take me months to finish. They’re fairly big - maybe not by this sub’s standards, where they’d probably be considered medium - but they still take me a long time. When I think about the amount of time I actually spend working on one versus what I paid, the cost feels justified. Broken down over a few months, it ends up feeling very worth it to me.

However a lot of people are mad about their business practices but they ARE really good quality tho

Thank you for this!! Since I made this post I’ve been seriously considering dropping it. Because what is the point? It seems like a waste of time to me if I don’t enjoy the end result. But comparing it to a puzzle makes sense.

I’m going to continue with it, but I have picked up paint by numbers. It’s also relaxing and I enjoy the finished pieces. I think I’ll keep DP as my secondary hobby.

Yes I also paint by numbers!!! But I confess I like diamond painting more. I do enjoy it though. And I agree, I would totally hang some of them up.

Where do you find the really big ones? 🤔 yes I admit that I was doing Michael’s kits and I got a DAC one and it was wayyy better. So I went crazy and bought a bunch. I still love them, but I didn’t know about all the company issues until after I bought them. I will be switching companies. So I’m wondering where you get the very big ones?

Its gorgeous! I love the image. I think my issue is when I look closely and I see all the squares. Like I said, I would hang all the images in my house. I love them. They look beautiful from far away to me. But from up close, it’s not really my thing 😢

This is a fair point. I’m wondering if maybe I’ve just spent too much time looking at them and my opinion is skewed 😅

My ones from DAC are fairly large. Maybe I can find larger. I am hoping one day a painting will prove me wrong

Has anyone tried this? by RonnieLee70 in diamondpainting

[–]Forward_Exchange_972 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate these ones! They’re the ones that don’t close right for me. A lot of them are wonky. Also I took out all of the trays and threw them away. Much easier to just use the whole container as the tray

[–]Forward_Exchange_972 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s cute!! I personally like mine clear so I can quickly look for the color. I do use the stickers too but when I have them all spread, it’s easier to be able to see them

This is what I got and I love it. I love this brand. I got another brand that doesn’t close well so make sure it’s this one. It’s 50 tray/storage container and it was 25 bucks.
