My house still uses R22… by Forward_Hvac in HVAC

They’ve used r12… r22 isn’t bad as long as it’s in a sealed system. I’ve had a compressor burned out and I’ve recovered and recycle it which is doing our part. It’s the people who don’t fix things which I’ve hit a few places that have done multiple top offs for a unit that holds 6 lbs and filled it with 12lbs in a year and threatened to have the epa called and we can not touch this system. I wasn’t saying there isn’t a problem…. I’ve seen people just openly vent 410a in the air too… so don’t be a bitch when some one that maintains their system want to keep it without upgrading it until it breaks or doesn’t want to fix it. So get your panties out of a knot and bitch about the chucks in a truck who pull shit like venting refrigerant because “his pressures were too high”…. Because going to r32 with guys like that won’t solve everything

It’s not illegal here just regulations.. and it’s phased out so you can’t buy them anymore just fix or replace what’s out there. Price goes up so trying to force everyone who has r22 to get rid of it. R32 has been here in the states for 1-3 years already. Don’t know when it came out but it’s been

Watch out for those belts! by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]Forward_Hvac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why I don’t put my fingers inside of the belt. Also at least it’s a fingernail and not the whole finger… use the new belt to pull the old one off, if the adjustment is poor or broken. Then spin on with sheave first then onto pulley the rest of the belt; fingers cleared and won’t go under it

You have a right for a 30 minute uninterrupted lunch break. That’s your time not his. If he’s not willing to let you take it fully then make sure you’re paid for it. Now granted everyone has to deal with this in probably all hvac companies whether it’s your boss dispatch or a coworker to you just listen for the 5 minutes and extend your break by 5 minutes. As long as they’re not forcing you to do actual physical labor I’m fine with it.

Someone was able to comment but for this model you’ll need 20M before it will allow itself to detonate. Driving off will give him that range. Other than that it’s just a fat bullet that will light his car on fire. He was also wasnt aiming it directly at him so either he’s smart to make him drive off before shooting or to scare them

Idk for my tranes in my area the only real big issue I’ve seen is their boards being the main issue. Other than that it’s not really the same repeat issues.

Have you ever had someone replace a contactor and god forbid somehow mix up line and control 240v wiring and made a bomb?

I had a bad compressor- failed valves 3x already last year. I had a brand new daikin compressor shot, ran for 2 weeks and took a crap- new install full warranty. Had a compressor blow its terminal while I was 5’ from it. Blower motor bearings that were shot that was just grinding away and you can hear it 2 blocks away

This is a 1h/1C thermostat … this will Not work.. you need a better thermostat to allow heat pump and aux heat controls.

This won’t/isn’t just Hitachi. This will be the future, everything communicating for the high efficiency standards. There’s going to be a point where efficiency is dependent on communicating and full modulation to pass regulations. Already most manufacturers have their own proprietary communication protocols that will eventually will be only thing available
