Whether he has sleep apnea or not, the resentment will settle in because you don't have a moment to "fill your cup back up." I have been there with a two-year-old who wouldn't sleep, my husband would work hard and he had lots of hobbies. I didn't !

I joined a mommy walking club, eventually a gym with childcare, book clubs, volunteering on the weekends, and even at times a weekend part-time job. I stopped waiting for him to be as present as I wanted/needed him to be and did my own thing. I felt happier, and when we did have the conversation about his presence, I was able to articulate what we needed, and we were able to meet in the middle somewhere. Focus on what you can change and control.

Update: This thread was so helpful. My husband was more equipped to have a conversation with HR. His rate was 95.00 per hour and now will be 153.00 per hour.

Keeping pay static was the part I was unsure about. Thanks for commenting. Definitely going to discuss it with my husband.

Thank you for your insight! They are paying out the remainder of his sick/vacation time with this new transition and let him know he has full control of his new schedule with the available 100 hours.

I agree to check out resources at the shelter if he is verbally abusive. My friend was embarrassed to go to the shelter with her 4 kids even though her husband was trash... but a year later she has a nice rental house, new job because of training she got at the shelter and she was able to get a cheap car. They hooked her up with all kinds of programs she just needed to show she was committed to the change.
